Lol, find a Harbor Freight tools in larger cities like in Texas. Way cheaper than Ace, but yes, most hardware stores seem to have the RV gear no matter the brand name of hardware stores. They were around way before the box stores, lol.

We like Ace very much. Also Tractor Supply Co. carries RV supplies, hardware, chemicals and pet supplies plus affordable propane refill.

Glad you have your RV black tank chemical, but I have found mixing my own works very well. Remember, the black tank is not a "Septic Tank" but rather a "Holding tank" and we use normal (SOFT) Bath Tissue with ZERO issues.

Ace Hardware is a great store. It does carry all kinds of great gear. Don’t expect discount or Walmart prices but the prices are fair. And they carry pretty good items.

At HF, a good buy is their 10 ga heavy extension cord, great for connecting a 30a rig to a 20a outlet.

The Camco filter is a joke. Get a Beech Lane dual full cartridge setup for $70.

lol we were just camping at a spot that didn’t have water hookups and bought one of those water transfer pumps at a local Ace Hardware. It worked… we had to prop it up on a table next to the water inlet but it’s better than standing and holding the jug.

Yea but I recently found that I would add this and that, a few heavy tools and where do they all go? In my rv or the back of truck and only having a 1/2 ton I quickly got over capacity on my truck by about 150 lbs.

Plus One on the recommendation of Unique Camping and Marine products, especially RV-DIGEST-IT.

We have been using it since shortly after we bought our first bumper pull a few years ago.

It is so nice to enter the camper, especially when it has been stored a while, and not smell the black tank.

On our prior two campers, RV-DIGEST-IT cleared tank sensor issues, and I am sure it will do the same on our recently acquired fifth wheel.

Runnings is also a good choice. They have all the hardware, plus a great outdoor sections, including camping, hunting and fishing. However, there are only 58 stores, so they are not everywhere.

@gratefulglamper I have been following for almost 2 years now and we are going to get a camper. Is there any way you can give advice on how to pick one? I was going to send a message but I don’t see that option. 😢 I want used, pre covid, husband wants new. Just wanted to have an experienced person to ask. Thank you for any help.

Our local ace has the basics but over the past few years it’s turned into more of a bougie market. They have less of what you need and more of high dollar items like yeti coolers, blackstones, green eggs,Weber grills,Nomadix overpriced towels etc. Now as a result they reduced stock of useful items for projects to make room for those items and I find myself walking out empty handed way more unlike in the past where they usually had what I needed.

We all need to support our hardware stores. They have a bit of everything. An employee always seems to know where everything is. They all have things you will never find at the big box stores. Support hardware stores.

The collapsible sewer hose is good to have for an emergency, if your gonna dump but your hose cracks it's great to have that backup.

This so true. We have found an ACE Hardware in many of the places we camp. We were camping near Petoskey Michigan (they have a couple of ACE Hardware stores) and the store had the typical ACE stuff and a housewares section that is an RVer’s dream for getting stuff for the kitchen. We always get a new thing for in the inside kitchen. They also have stuff for the outside kitchen. We don’t normally go off and camping in the boonies. We are usually close to a Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart. The first 3 are those big home improvement stores. All of those stores have some things for the RV. Some more than others.

Get a canvas from harbor freight and make a canvas mat instead of buying the overpriced mat for the ground and you can make it waterproof and paint it with whatever design you want!

You can get a transfer pump that runs with your drill and hooks to garden hoses. That way you don’t end up with a Popeye arm.

If the sewer hose needs a repair, it might be that the whole thing is so bad that buying a new one would be best. Otherwise, just put the folds together at the break and use epoxy around the whole pipe and a clamp the fold until the adhesive dries. Cheaper than bayonet and one less thing to carry.

Don't forget TRACTOR SUPPLY. If you are in a pinch (it's late, you're in a hurry) you can get a mounted tire for your trailer in almost any size (trailer tires). They also have fasteners, bolts, hitch stuff, tools, lights, etc....

So this has been on our raar for years. There are no shortages of rv gear around. Going tp a Camping World type store gets you the gear at a higher price. Home Depot for the same gear is way less.
