It's our final day in Lisbon, Portugal and we still have so many things to see and do! Come along as we see some amazing sights and eat some delicious foods.
First we explore the beautiful, mystical and charming Sintra. Just 19 miles away from Lisbon, Sintra is the perfect day trip, and it's so worth it! There are so many little narrow streets to explore and three different palaces!
After a full morning exploring the Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and the National Palace (You can watch full videos of our experiences at the palaces on out channel!) it's time for a bite to eat! The food in Portugal doesn't disappoint and if you are a foodie, be prepared for a delicious vacation! Our guide from "Portuguese For the Day"recommended Tasca Saloia. This small, charming restaurant was such a delight! We enjoyed dishes of grilled octopus and a steak, sausage and fried egg fransesca. We also tried a couple of sweets from a local bakery.
Don't miss Sintra's famous "pillow cake" and the cheesecake was unlike any cheesecake I have ever had. These two desserts are worth the trip!
Our next stop was at Cabo da Roco. Here we visited the western most point of continental Europe. It's hard to believe we are only a short drive (about 15 miles) from Lisbon. The coastline here is beautiful and I loved the lighthouse that stood guard over the landscape.
Back in Lisbon we spent the rest of our day wondering around the city seeing Praco do Comercio, the main Plaza in Lisbon. We also visited A Livraria Mais Antiga Do Murdo, the world's oldest bookstore. Here you can purchase a book and they will stamp it showing it was bought from them.
Lisbon has so many wonderful things to see, do and taste! I am sure you will have no trouble filling several days with interesting, beautiful and fun places to visit.
Thank you so much for watching! We really appreciate each and every view and comment!
We know that we are "Living the GOOD Life!" and we hope that you are too!
Hope to see you again next week! Seludge!
