Nice and clear explanation! I missed the laserline on the piece of wood. . . Don’t you find that useful?
ОтветитьThis was super helpful. You were so detailed, I have a lot more confidence now, thanks to you!
ОтветитьGreat vid thank you!!
ОтветитьThe timing of this new channel format is kismet!!! I've been contemplating getting a miter saw as my starter for quite awhile. I've been itching to start in general for even longer. A situation has occurred that's left me with some practice pieces. I'm so excited! One thing I'd love a video on is how to tell what the material of a piece is. Sometimes I know it was cheap and is veneer or it's lifting or chipped but sometimes I really can't tell.
ОтветитьClap👏👏 👏 🙌🏼
Ответить❤️
ОтветитьI have a 10” kobalt dual bevel saw
ОтветитьGreat video!! Can’t wait for more!!
ОтветитьGreat video!! Can’t wait for more!!
ОтветитьCutting on the OUTSIDE of the line is a lesson I learned the hard way last weekend. We didn't account for the width of the blade which Completely tore through the soft wood and left the piece about 1/4" too short! Guess who ran out to Lowes 15 minutes before closing 👈
ОтветитьAny suggestions on replacement blades ?
ОтветитьYou are THE best teacher! Our miter saw isn't telescoping, but my husband is very easily talked into buying more tools! I can't wait for the next lesson. Thank you, Crys'Dawna.
Ответитьlove these videos. have you ever painted an electric fireplace? not the fireplace insert but like the part that holds the insert. mine looks like a real, regular wood fireplace but i wasn’t sure how the paint would hold up. it’s just so dark (it has like a cherry finish) & I’ve been updating things to make everything lighter. I’d like to do that with the fireplace. thanks for all you do for us beginners!! ❤️❤️
Ответить'Anything boys can do, girls can do better ... ' (Sorry, I had to) My first foray into power tools was a miter saw and a flooring project -- in a home with diagonal walls! I'd never used any but an orbital sander, not even a drill (!) before, and diagonal cuts with a scary machine wasn't the easiest way to learn. I trashed (more than) a few boards but I got it after many mistakes. What a great confidence-builder it is to say, YES I can do this! Thanks, Crys'Dawna! 😁
ОтветитьGreat job. This makes me a little less nervous about a miter saw … Thank you 🌈🖖🏽💕
ОтветитьThis was great but I am trying to find your site for the sander....please help.
ОтветитьSo helpful.
Thanks for the confidence booster. I love the idea of you explaining tools.
Not sure if this is on your radar but do you use chisels? I need a lesson on them as well, only if your using them.
I’m so loving these. I have been looking around for basic woodworking classes that would cover things like this. I have a question or thought for a later episode. Whenever I use my circular saw, I get wood burning/charring. Does that mean my blade is dull? Thanks
ОтветитьLooking forward to all the videos you have decided to share with us. You are doing a great job explaining things to where I can understand and obtain the information.
ОтветитьOk..thanks for the basics video. It is confirmed now that I am using mine correctly. I am completely self taught so it make me feel good that I am doing it right. I need to get one with the telescopic blade cause I do need to cut wider boards once in awhile. I dont have a table saw. ❤🇨🇦
ОтветитьI am so glad you started with the compound mitre saw. I am buying one this week and I wasn't sure what I needed because I like to get the most use out of one tool instead of having say 3 tools for 3 different cuts. Love this video. 😀
ОтветитьAwesome tutorial!! You covered the basics in terms you can understand. Thank you for sharing! Have an awesome week!
ОтветитьThis was great information! Can’t wait to see more. Thanks 😊
ОтветитьWoman, you are the reason my dining room is now my workshop! Not into big tools yet, but I have 7 pieces on the go and I am working on a patina finish on my solid oak dining table and chairs as I write this. So excited to break into this world of art, wood and creative expression. Thank you for your talent and your joy of sharing!
ОтветитьExcellent! So helpful. Wasn't sure which saw to buy until this video. Thanks so much!!
ОтветитьYou are such a great instructor. Thank you. I cut a lot of angels and use a hand saw. After your instruction I think I’m going to go buy an actual miter saw. Thanks!
ОтветитьI’m loving this series! I don’t have a miter saw, but my father in-law has one next door and I have free reign with his tools pretty much so that’s the next best thing. Thanks for the info!!
ОтветитьYes!! I 💯 needed this!!!
ОтветитьThanks so much! I have been wanting a video like this. Perfect. Can’t wait to learn more! I have been wanting to learn the basics….I would stand at the store and look at the saws and had no idea what the differences are or what would be best. And then being totally intimidated that I would cut off a finger, walk away!
So the “sliding “ means telescopic! So I’m assuming bevel means a beveled angle cut. Just taking an online class where the girl teaches how to make signs and other small wood projects and uses a sliding saw a lot. Great projects but my complaint to her was I knew nothing about tool use. Thanks for a girl’s no tool knowledge, basic instruction video. You are an awesome teacher. 🥰
I dont have one, but still learned...thank you! ❤
ОтветитьThank you so much for doing these types of videos. Such a huge help
ОтветитьI can’t seem to find the even more basic video you have on a mitre box. I recently bought one and I’m trying to find good clamps for it. I like the ones you use that have what I call a trigger tightening. None of my lingo is professional, I’m trying to learn… Can you send a link for what you use and do I need different sizes? I’m just going to start with making a picture frame. Thank you for doing this series! You have a wonderful knack for teaching and I love that I get to learn such basics from someone as professional as you are.
ОтветитьOH MY I NEEDED THIS ON MY SUNDAY!!!! This was by far the BEST instructional video on a miter saw I have seen!!!! Thank you for that! I have wanted a miter saw for the longest time and now you have TOTALLY convinced me! I never thought that it could be used on the floor so I never pursued it, but now I can and my husband said I am a hazard and should not get one (I'll just tell him Crys'Dawna said it was ok😂🤣😆) . Some questions: 1. Do miter saws have clamps to hold wood in place? 2. On the angles that are not typically used 13 degrees or 50 degrees does the lever lock or do you just hold it in place? 3. Do they sell extenders/extensions that could be bought to make the telescopic part longer for wider pieces of wood? 4. Do you have any brands that if purchased you can earn credit for yourself? Thank you again!!
ОтветитьCrys - so so helpful! I wonder if you could do a video about different types of wood, their properties, and how to recognize them. For instance, does pine absorb stain faster because it is a softer wood? What does it look like when the finish is sanded off? Are its tannins likely to bleed through? Etc etc
ОтветитьYou can sharpen your blade instead of replacing it. Heaps of videos showing how.
ОтветитьThank you for this video.....I just may have to start playing with my husbands Miter.......I think he would freak out!! lol
ОтветитьI love power tools my father in law
Said I'm the only female he has ever bought tools for💜🕉
Can't live without it
ОтветитьThank you...
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьIt's true that it's super practical and I would like to have one, but it will take up a lot of space in my small workshop 😢
ОтветитьVery informative. Thank you!!
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThank you! I feel more confident using it now. My husbands instructions are no where near as clear as yours. So glad you branched out on this, i had to cut a board to put in the bottom of my last piece, i was feeling a little sketchy on the whole process.
ОтветитьWhoa, I've never been the first commenter anywhere. 😲
A miter saw makes all woodworking so much easier and joints so much more precise! It's another one of those tools that you never realize how helpful and essential it is until after you have one, and then there's no going back. 👍
