Still hammer my Vita, my PSP is still on the shelf but the Vita once hacked/modded can play psp games, often with better graphics and controls. It's such an amazing machine

I feel like you pretty unfairly did not discuss the portal in as much detail. No figures, statistics, and you heavily skimped on the user experience and downsides. It's disingenuous to say "this is for me" and nothing else. What it can do for you should be as, if not more important than what it can't do for others. It's not standalone so you need to buy what is the most expensive sony console. The quality varies widely depending on the speed and strength of the network around it so it's more like a wii u gamepad with slightly further reach. This kinda stuff is missing from this video and it genuinely hurts to see.

I still play the vita almost daily, freedom wars, toukiden, soul sacrifice, jstars victory vs..man I miss the vita glory days, I pray that Sony will one day bring us an updated new handheld like the vita, still my fav handheld

The PSP was great, but the GBA while coming short hardware wise, had a hidden strength, a massive library of incredibly good games.

I had a period where i played GBA emulated games. In the process i tested about 85-90% of the library. The amount of 8-10/10 games compared to the number of games made for the console is truly incredible. And i dont mean just the stone cold classics. There was a XCOM inspired tactical strategy for the GBA, nobody talks about it, but its incredibly solid game.

The DS being backward comparable with the GBA games, is one of the hidden reasons why it sold so well. When parents and even kids buying a new console being able to play your old games was considered a must. The PS2 did it, Xbox 360 did it (in a really limited fashion), the GBA did it. The PSP couldn't because it was the first Sony handheld. It limited its buying appeal for more cash strapped families. Also it came with educational games and thats just cheating.

The VITA not having backwards compatibility was a giant nail in its coffin.

I absolutely loved my PSP! It was years ahead of its time!

I still remember the first time I played vita on a shop demo floor. A game called gravity rush. It blew my mind. And the UI was a treat to use.

It was a phone with the buttons of the playstation

psp was the ultimate swagger , i was a sucker for anybody who owned one

something like the ps portal makes no sense in 2k24 when most people don't have the internet to play with it without lag and good resolution^^

PSP inspired mobile phone devices to be what they are today
