To be fair, the British media ultimately drove Princess Diana to her death 😢 and she was a conventionally pretty white woman
ОтветитьI would say “in-breeding” always wins with royals….
ОтветитьThis movie must be where Jennifer Lawrence got her personality from
ОтветитьI did not see this movie as a kid, but I do remember the ads for it.
😳I can safely say, though, I was not expecting to see Colin Firth shakin' his ass in leather pants.
I bet that was added in for the straight moms & gay dads in the audience, but you know some kids also harbored secret crushes on Colin Firth as a result.
Noooo, I love this movie! Maybe it's a guilty pleasure? Idk - but I honestly think it's really cute!
ОтветитьI think movies like this gave me an unhealthy obsession with who my birth parents were going to be (/are). I'm adopted, and all these tropes of "the family that left you would have accepted and loved you as you are".... I think it hurts kids.
Really prepped me for an enormous disappointment when I got my adoption info (/when my mom told me said info as a manipulation tactic to explain why she abused me)
The funniest part is that the UK doesn't even have debutantes anymore.
ОтветитьThis was like one of my fave amanda bynes movies when I was little😂😭 it made me feel calm and happy. I love itttttt.
ОтветитьI have an online audience 💅👁👄👁💅
ОтветитьI loved the premise of the movie but i didnt like amanda bynes character. It was always like she did no wrong by being overly peppy and annoying and ruined her dads campaign.
ОтветитьI used to watch mtf is every time I went to my cousin’s and I can’t believe younger me was actually obsessed with the dress she cut. Rose coloured glasses tried to convince me this wasn’t just a slip from the sleepwear section of Walmart.
ОтветитьI saw this back in the day. I watch this now and I feel sad about the possibility that Amanda was already fighting mental illness.
ОтветитьI followed you for years, but I have not seen your breakdowns on these movies and I am dying laughing the last couple days I’ve just been watching so many of them cracking up you’re so funny😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhy were so many female rom com protagonists so clumsy? Seriously, they're always falling down.
ОтветитьIf it were me, I'm okay with Daphne and Clarissa becoming friends and burying the hatchet between them early. Both of them are young girls, figuring things out, and trying to form an emotional bond with their newfound father, and I can see them both having differences, and quickly learning to put them aside. Amanda Bynes' speech so early in the movie, spelling out for Clarissa that she's just going to be there, I think that's fine, and a possible positive addition to the movie. I wouldn't change this, if I was responsible for re-writing this film.
However, you are right that there needs to be stakes, and conflict; what I WOULD change is to turn the stepmother into the main antagonist. Have the evil bitch become a dark reflection of Daphne's mother, a sort of realization of all of the negative gold digger/royal chaser stereotypes that Daphne's mother avoided. You could not only still have things like doctored or skewed evidence to put Daphne's relationship with Harry at risk, but also show some semblance of reason as to why Daphne's mother didn't want to hang around this lifestyle, why she might not have wanted to risk changing into a horrible person.
Idk why they didn’t just say she did write him letters about Daphne but the servants always interrupted them. Doubt they don’t have access to his email to block her too.
ОтветитьShe got into Oxford cause her daddy is royalty, clearly.
ОтветитьI remember when this movie would play on Disney channel and my mom (who doesn’t understand English) was scandalized when she caught the tail end of it where they danced at the ball and asked if they were a couple.
At the time I thought that was ridiculous and said wtf no ofc not! It’s so obvious that they’re father and daughter! But now, looking back…yeah, that was a fair assumption.
I can't hate any movie that features any song by Duncan Sheik. His song "Half Life" plays when Daphne goes back to N.Y.
R.I.P. Kelly Preston.
The lunesta butterfly lmfaooo 😂
ОтветитьHeres how i would open the movie where at a wedding and we see daphne and her mom setting the tables amd making sure the food is ready.
Mom: honey i am so sorry we have tl work.on your birthday but money is...
Daphne: mom its fine besides a wedding, it will be so much fun. Nothing like your wedding of course.
The mom looks pensive and sad : well when you get married it will be wonderful, like a fairytale to a great prince
Mom i am not a child i am seventeen
Oh dont remind me my baby is all grown up.
Here i would shown daphne being diplomantic by calming guests downand being quick thinking and have here look sad at the bride having her father walk her down the aisle.
After the wedding i would have mom and daughter sitting down having dinner and the mom bring out a book. "Daphne your right your not a child and well i think its time i told you the truth" then i wiuld have her twll the story of how she met her father. But sprinkle it with daphne sayi.g yes you told me this a million times before the mom said after we got married i learned he was a duke and his advisor told me that henery didnt believe i would be a good wife so i left and i called him to say you were born but he never replied so i let it go.
i love your content sm, you have such an amazing aura abt you <3
ОтветитьMy version of this movie would be way different. I would keep Daphne and her mom in the five floor walkup thing but she learns about her dad through like an old photo album or whatever and begs to see him. Her mom holds reservations, but allows her daughter to go anyway. Daphne finally gets to Britain and sees her dad on the news. She's shocked but also satisfied that her dreams of what her dad might be are true. Everything seems perfect until she meets the step mom and their sisters. The step mom and their sisters want to be involved in the politics of Britain, and this is their way in. The step mom pressures her daughters to push and push to social network and to be sociable like robots. However, this can't be compared to Daphne's pure likability and nuance as an American. Daphne's dad and her grow closer together from the fashion show and coco-puffs cereal. The sister tries to sabotage Daphne's life, making her late to the fashion show, and embarrassing her in a visit with the royal family. This happens until finally, the family goes to a press meeting, and Daphne shows prowess in front of the press despite the sister trying to sabotage her. This is when Daphne confronts her stepsister, pointing out their differences, and why she is ten times greater and eligible for a spot in British politics than her sister will ever be. In the end of the movie there's the election where the step mom tries to falsify the votes to get Colin Firth elected, but Daphne stops this from happening and saves the day!!! Coin Firth gets elected anyway and divorces the step mom. Him and Daphne take a trip around the world where Colin learns he is bisexual and has a relationship with someone from Australia or whatever. They finally return home to Daphne's New York Fve story walkup and Coin meets with Daphne's mom. He explains that he is sorry he could never truly love her and they make up. In the end, they are all a happy family. This could be way better but whatever.
ОтветитьBruh, you’re ‘movie versions’ are ALWAYS best
Idk why tf you’re not getting paid to scheme fictional drama
looking at colin Firth disrespectfully
ОтветитьDon’t be sorry, I love your commentary.❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьEuropean chocolate is better than American chocolate for the same reason that American chocolate cereals have to call themselves "chocolatey." It's because Americans water down our chocolate with low-quality ingredients.
Ответить“Do I ever get to see this character get inside without three rounds of wipeout “ lol
ОтветитьI love this movie :( (maybe it’s the daddy issues)
Ответитьthis was my all time favorite movie as a child. i must have watched it like 10 times.
ОтветитьPreemptive apology for my autistic rage: the dodo bird was NOT prehistoric; it very much existed during our modern human times, we just obliterated it because we can’t have nice things.
ОтветитьI could be wrong but when they say "season" I'm pretty sure they mean the time of year when high society comes together and they host a ton of social events. I think back in the day the "season" was when the upper class could mingle and get together for balls and events with some people aiming to find a prospective wife or husband. At least thats what season means on Bridgerton😂
Ответить"Big Ben" is not the clock, nor is it the tower, it is the BELL!
ОтветитьBig ben is the bell not the tower lol.
ОтветитьThis is def NOT the worst Amanda Bynes movie.
I think Sydney White is.
I have liked colim firth since Bridget Jones
ОтветитьI think they keep mentioning the marriage because in 99.99 percent of the worlds royal lineages if a child is fathered outside of marriage the child does not have succession rights. By having them married it puts Dapheny before the future step daughter in succession.
ОтветитьAs a girl who grew up not knowing her dad this was always a fantasy in a way. It always tugged deeper then It should of. Love love this movie idc idc. 😂
ОтветитьI'm of the opinion that the protag being klutzy is a sly way to prevent character-arcs. Its a character-flaw that doesn't make the star look bad.
ОтветитьWhy do I feel like I’m being attacked? 😂😂 This movie is my GUILTY pleasure lol.
ОтветитьPsst @NickDiRamioTV, Daphne is a woman, so she’ll actually face discrimination every time she seeks medical care after one of her adorable slip and fall incidents.
ОтветитьSo Miss Bingley can't get Mr Darcy in any universe 💀
ОтветитьThis is one of my favorite nick reviews ❤
ОтветитьI literally found you the day before yesterday and I don't think I stopped watching you since 😂 I definitely fell asleep
ОтветитьYour videos are SO funny please come back😭😭😭
