Hopefully this clears up some of the regrowing hacks you see out there on the internet! Stay tuned for more experiments ;)
Ответитьa lot of them work tested it but you need to plant them in vermiculite
ОтветитьFictionely false it is
ОтветитьOK how about the famous banana tree from a store banana?
ОтветитьVery new to gardening, myself. I actually started with a Japanese cherry blossom kit a few months ago. It definitely was a frustrating difficult process for a beginner but ended up being worth it to my surprise. Lowkey the initial process with putting the seeds in boiled water and then planting in the mini greenhouse and putting in the fridge for a month. After that when I moved it outside I really expected nothing from it and kind of even forgot about it for awhile. But one day when I went out in my screened in patio to play with my cat, I noticed a tiny little green in it. Kinda was super excited that it actually worked. And I’d sat after a month or so I noticed the root actually was coming through the hole at the bottom of the mini green house. So it actually was ready to be repotted in a bigger one. That was about a month ago, and I’m honestly amazed how fast it’s grown in such a short time. I think it might even need a bigger pot in the next month or so actually. And since then I gradually started planting other seeds for fun.
Started with some Hawaiian baby woodrose I found, and then decided to plant some of my kitchen scraps. I found that the red onion I planted showed results in under a day, the garlic after 2 days, and the carrot and white onion after two days. Definitely recommend for any beginner gardeners like myself to start with those root vegetables because you see results very quickly with them, then maybe move on to seeds with longer growing processes. But I’ll admit, if you have the patience for it, planting something with a long tedious process like the cherry blossom is very rewarding if you do it right. Feel really proud about getting that cherry blossom seed to start growing, and hopefully in a few years I’ll have a small cherry blossom tree. I’ve sadly never seen cherry blossoms in person before, but I think it’ll be amazing if the first ones I see were planted by myself.
mucho bla bla y no muietra el time lapse , una rea wea, adios arroz
ОтветитьMaybe instead of kicking the vegetable you could have used it for something? Just seems like that ending was kind of odd and disrespectful. I don't typically kick my plants and vegetables, even if i'm not going to eat them. Weird.
ОтветитьI find that if you suspend lettuce-like leafy green cuts in water the roots grow from the bottom much more vigorously than if they are sitting on the cut section...
ОтветитьOne great plant to try and regrow if you live in a warmer climate is pineapple. Take the top off, put in water for a few weeks - out of everything I tried these are the most successful in getting out roots - then pot them. They take a two to three years to get a fruit.
Ответитьdont be mean to the lettuce it can hear you 😠
ОтветитьAmazing! thanks for sharing btw, I have planted plum stones in tubs left them in a few years' they produced fab plums! blessed be x
ОтветитьThe comment section of this video is so wholesome, I'm loving reading through everyones perspective
ОтветитьMy pineapple top is actually growing, we have about 2 more warm months😮
ОтветитьHey could you confirm what happened with the experiment on beets? were you able to grow beets from the scraps
ОтветитьI reuse cuttings for seeds, i try to root most everything throughout the year to get carrot seed celery beets on and on anything that will root flower and seed plus i root all onions all garlic i even cut basil and root over winter so i always have it I'm in 8a winter is short and i can keep things in water till early spring . i also collect seeds from anything i can especially peppers but lots of melons and yes it can be years for trees to fruit but time is going to go by one way or another i have peach pears plums apples mulberry from 4 inches to 10 ft and I'm always planting more seeds taking air layers and grafting . its fun
ОтветитьI heard that with the romaine lettuce and celery you need to slightly smash the bottom to get the roots to grow
Ответитьvideo is good but you get a dislike from a hungry man for wasting that food in the intro and at the end.
Ответитьi did this with napa cabbage and it worke really well
ОтветитьCut off a tiny sliver of the lettuce and celery bases to expose the tender root instead of the harded and browned outside. It'll make the roots grow much easier.
ОтветитьIll have to dig around for a video about how to grow kale/spinach/lettuce Ive tried for years and every time they end up bolting on me... EVERY YEAR. and long before they produce any real harvest
ОтветитьThanks for bringing a gardener who talks about what he knows.
Looking at her nails compared to the ones from other experts” you can see the difference. Please continue to bring real gardeners, not just pretty faces. With good manicures
Thank you❤
Scallions are worth it, and tomatoes turn out well
ОтветитьThanks for this awesome video! Ending is misleading though- many of these are far from worthless kitchen scraps! You just need to know which ones are a waste of time. Most of these are sustainable ways to start a garden full of essentials your family will use time and again
ОтветитьSeldery, true
ОтветитьBut I found this morning english cucumber 🥒growing next to my tomato plant
ОтветитьWith the carrot nurse it over winter and take propagation from the clippings. The Taproot won't form because the original is still there in the form of the carrot stump. The new props will produce taproots because the plant won't already be sensing that it has a partial carrot
ОтветитьDid it with green onions. Put it in soil and after a few weeks it didn’t fully regrow
ОтветитьI did the pineapple one ages ago and man never again hahaha, I had two beautiful pineapples afterward but it was so much work to get them to work.
ОтветитьI bought 6 living lettuce, 3 green leaf, 3 red leaf for just £1.75 a few weeks ago. I straight away put them in their own pots (they were small and in tiny bio pots) and I put them in the little greenhouse. The soon grew a lot. now they are taking over. I grab the biggest one and hack off a few leaves every time I make a salad or a sandwich (most days) and they are doing great. They keep on pushing more and more leaves out of the middle as I cut the outer leaves off.
Ответитьyeah except you CAN use seeds from store bought foods and grow them successfully.... Bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, green onions and potatoes have been growing quite fine in our yard for years.
ОтветитьI think it should be noted that this could be a biosecurity risk.
Here in the UK we import a lot of fruit and vegetables. These are declared as for consumption on the import application. Because of this they don't go through the same checks as they would if they were declared as a plant for planting.
What this means is when people try to propagate from scraps this could potentially see an introduction of a quarantine disease.
Potatoes are a prime example of this. Another would be harvesting tomato seeds from store bought tomatoes. Solanacae host some bad diseases which can result in devastating consequences to an area if there was an outbreak.
my mom did celery regrow, many leaves came out, but I didn't do anything to do it, now it's all dead
ОтветитьDo you guys have a gardening course?
Ответить4 seconds into the video, already subscribed because the popping out from behind the plants cracked me up so much HAHAHA
Ответитьblimey i had no idea the translucent goo i used to scrape off my cucumber slices as a kid were supposed to be seeds what have we done to them
ОтветитьSuper informative video! I love videos like these cos it's so worth my time because of how so many stuff I can learn
ОтветитьApples and avacado seeds do not produce good fruits. Just about all avacado and apples are clones or grafted clones. Growing these fruits will produce disgusting tasting fruits
ОтветитьYou lost me at the kiwi fruit (Chinese gooseberry) - having a single plant will NEVER work, you need both male and female ones. without both. no kiwi fruit.
ОтветитьSubscribed to fluent garden!! Great video!! ❤
ОтветитьI took to lime seeds in the dirt and I have to tiny plant don't know what they gon grow in to but they are cute
ОтветитьI thought you sopose to use kitchen scraps for the compose😂😂😂 oly
ОтветитьMint an baking soda will keep rodents away outside and you can plant the scrapes, it will take longer but once green comes outta scrapes, your in or teach kids!! Great deal on Amazon non gmo heirloom seeds 👏
Ответитьits not grow up, it just delaying of dead
ОтветитьI can listen to Chris all day.
ОтветитьDoes carrot grow on any soil type?😢
ОтветитьDoes beet roots grow on any soil type?
ОтветитьWe are definitely not selling and buying the lettuce properly in markets or groceries..they last way to little, when we could get it with a bit of soil or even in a small pot and keep getting leaves of it for a little while..and don't even start with things like "markets don't want that cuz it would hurt business"..it hurts way more when they throw away greens that are not sellable anymore, or we buy "tired" greens..so, it's a loss, loss. Plus we are improving other products, so we can definitely improve this
Ответитьgreat video
