Eric Saade is not the writer, he is the artist! May have been involved in "writing" the original song. She and her songwriters has changed a lot from the original song including the lyrics. I mean there are artist that can write songs and those that have the looks, or the voice or the will to follow the industries demands.
ОтветитьI think she did a lovely song of Erics song. You should listen to his song Manboy, who was in the Mellofestival s8me years ago.❤ they performing in a stone barn. So cool. The mucisions are in the background. They are soo good.
ОтветитьIt's interesting to me that they're doing this over food in Sweden. A few other countries I have seen performances from usually have a casual drinks-only setting for the performance part. The original concept of the show, as in so many cases, is from the Netherlands, by the way. You are always bound to be surprised by amazing new versions, and the intimate setting often creates very special, personal moments for the artists and for the viewers.
ОтветитьALBIN LEE MELDAU same show as this, different year, different artist. You are in for a ride!
He was a barely high functioning alcoholic during production and has since sobered up. I love his emotional register!
You could react, just for fun, to the very first 'artist and song interpretation' of the very first season, just to get a feel of the concept!
I don't know if that was the original singer , it seems he is, but not gay, not the same song, she did a retake...
and no matter how the camera was put on him.. it's about how he acted on camera, his facial and body expressions... Would not call it love, but it was something, up-front flirting.
lol no he's not gay, she changed the lyrics slightly :D
Ответитьthe beat reminds me of the kiss the moose intro 🎵🎶
ОтветитьThat's a complete renovation of the original incredibly inane song. Unfortunately for you without knowing the original song there is a lack of context regarding the lyrics 😅
Also given the original lyrics you saying "we're just gonna call him manboy" is hilarious 😂
She looks as if she has a secret and wants to hide the fact but can't. Nice voice though. And the dinner (?) guests sitting around seem to be having a good ole time!
ОтветитьThis show is recorded in July each year and originally it would be 6 artists or bands who spend a week at Grå Gåsen in Gotland and each artist/band have a day where the others play their covers during a lunch and a dinner setting and they talk about the artist’s life, the origin of the song and such. The last day was for duets or celebrating/honoring a specific artist that’s not there.
This show has given us a lot of amazing takes on famous songs, such as Agnes with ”instant repeater”, Ola Salo with “dry my soul “ and “trouble“, Amanda Jensen with “when we dig for gold in the USA “, Maja Ivarsson with ”mitt bästa för dig”
Listen to the original song Manboy by Eric Saade and see the difference 😊
ОтветитьThis is a really good show in Sweden where they gather a few different artists at one place and have them all perform eachothers songs. I used to watch every season, but have dropped off a bit lately.
What I like about it is that they usually get a really interesting group of artists. Some young with a fairly short career and some older ones who might have been an artist for like 50 years or more and there's a nice mix between genres. You can have a RnB/rap artist and one doing jazz song and another does modern pop or rock. Sometimes you can get really cool covers where a rap song becomes a great house song or something like that.
I think my personal favourite is when the artist Magnus Uggla performed "Jag Och Min Far". Not that it's perhaps super different compared to the original, but it's extremely emotional and there's something about the song and the performance that just leaves me a crying wreck. If you ever react to it, try to find it with english subtitles.
P.S. Not really connected to that show, but if you ever want to react to more swedish music, I would love to see you listen to the band "Dirty Loops". Three extremely talented musicians with a really cool sound.
Another great Swedish singer that I think you would enjoy is Seinabo Sey, for example Hard Time or her first hit Younger.
ОтветитьIkona Pop (Aino and Caroline) are also sitting by the table. They had a uge hit with I Love It all over and peaked at no 7 at Billboard 100. You should react to it, a party starter!
ОтветитьYou got it all right Joe. This is Erics song and Sabina made her own version of it and performed it for him. She have changed the lyrics tho cause he sings "you can call ME manboy". He has a girlfriend tho so no love here, But the entire show is about giving old songs a new life and the artist to show their appreciation for each others versions. So the slow zoom in is main character in this show :P
ОтветитьIn Eric’s version the line is “you can call ME manboy” (a boring pop song in my opinion when he does it)
ОтветитьThis is the guy I frequently ask for you to react to on my Eurovision week!👌🏻
Ответить“Can I join?” haha Mike 🤣
ОтветитьThe guy is Eric Saade; she's singing his song.
ОтветитьAnyone else find it odd for her to complete change the lyrics to avoid the gender issues? THAT angle I despise.
ОтветитьThis is a huge show in Sweden, it's on for season 15 now! Swedish singers and songwriters come together and perform each other's songs and they usually come out very different from the original. Sometimes the new version becomes a hit again. Recommend you to listen to the original and then the cover to see what I mean. Try for example Here I go again, original by E-type and covered in the show by Laleh.
ОтветитьThe original lyrics: "manboy, you could call me manboy..." she changed the lyrics to fit her gender. So it's not a gay-anthem so to speak.
ОтветитьPlease react to Small world with Sabina Ddumba ❤ Eric Saade is not gay though lol.
