Oh wow. I wish I knew about this when I was doing my graveyard diorama, that would have looked way better than the glue stick I used. Lol. Awesome video! Thanks 😊

ОтветитьHave you ever created spell effects? How did you do it?
ОтветитьI have had success with neon sharpies on clear plastic and it reacts to UV light!!!
ОтветитьAwesome video! (and love the furry helper there)
I don't have any of these materials but the video gives me great inspiration for how to specialize some minis!
I wonder how resin would work on a silpat baking mat?
ОтветитьGreat stuff friend 👏 👍
Ответитьthat glowing orb effect was really cool
ОтветитьHappy cat sounds to finish the video. Awesome. :)
ОтветитьReally cool! Thanks for creating a video on such a creative technique! I think this could be a really cool thing to use in tandem with a thermoplastic mold of an existing object too.
ОтветитьSushi and Equinox (our tabby and black kitty) are insanely loud as they eat too.
ОтветитьThumbs up for the awesome techniques and for the kitty sounds in the background. :)
ОтветитьAmazing technique & ideas.
ОтветитьI might try parchment paper, It probably wont stick as much
ОтветитьInspiring!
ОтветитьThe folks who cast resin dice, like Rybonator, usually use alcohol-based inks for coloring resin
ОтветитьOh this could look amazing as lighting from a power sword! I have to try it!
ОтветитьPerfect timing, I currently have a mini on my desk which would be perfect for this effect. Great video :)
ОтветитьNice video! I used silicone baking mat and regular resin :D Also works
ОтветитьWhile no immediate plans to use this technique, something to file away in the 'when the opportunity presents itself' file (and commenting to pacify the almighty algorithm)
ОтветитьJust a friendly neighborhood comment to boost engagement for solid content!
ОтветитьWell this made me spend money... excellent work.
ОтветитьPraise 'ye olde algorithm!
ОтветитьThis is class ,really creative use of the material!
Ответитьive heard alcohol inks interact better with resin than the water based ones.
ОтветитьI need to take more advantage of this type of resin, your shield gave me the itch of finding the right mini to give it a Nanoha-style magic shield (think the rune circle on your channel intro as the spell effect)
ОтветитьMentioned before but I also use alcohol inks to dye UV resin. They work great. I add a little blue and a tiny bit of green mixed to make water effects for streams and puddles. UV resin also works great to fill small gaps on models.
ОтветитьSome good ideas. Definitely supposed to use non-aqueous inks with resins, but this has really made me think. Thanks Lyla.
ОтветитьCool concept lyla
ОтветитьI alreday use a resin printer to make my custom minis.
However, I can see the mass uses this has and def will be using some transparent resins I have to use this technique for water and blood-spray from now on.
Interesting effect!
ОтветитьIf you will apply your UV resin to something called a "Hot glue pad" (it's made of silicone, is about 6"×5" and available in the 'hot glue' section of your favorite craft store, most likely), you can leave the resin piece on it as long as you like and it just peels right off whenever...
Same if you use a "transparency sheet" (available from most "office supplies stores" for too much money, imho, or else amazon for a decent price)...
Both are "bendable" for curved effects, and way better if you plan on using UV a lot.
Otherwise, if your piece is a "one of," don't worry about it. Or, if you need to wrap it around part of your mini...
Fwiw 🖒☺
My favorite way to color these is with GW washes. They have many colors, as you know, to use.
ОтветитьYou don't need to use seran wrap for the "power up" style technique. You can use thicker resin and apply directly to the model and then draw it out with toothpicks while slowly curing it
Ответитьwonder if you could use this for sci fi force fields or energy shields or is it better to just use plastics sheets for that?
ОтветитьTo get the ink to mix with resin, use alcohol inks.
ОтветитьVery cool. A material and technique I haven't seen before. Thanks!
ОтветитьSo cool! This looks like a really approachable project too. Gonna have to get me some resin!
ОтветитьThis comment has one purpose only: To boost an amazing Video by an amazing content creator.
ОтветитьI really really need to try this!! Thanks so much Lyla
ОтветитьThe effects on the staff looked brilliant. Great video.
ОтветитьMEOW! 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьVery kool, I use resin pigment to color my resin.
ОтветитьHello can you reshape resin..with youre hands i want to do this...with my marvel legends power effcts please answer
ОтветитьAlcohol inks work very well for resin. I suppose they can be added in directly. Personally I print models in clear resin and tint it afterwards to the desired color. Works like a charm, and you can even get some very nice, smooth blends and control opacity and overall intensity with some acetone.
ОтветитьLyla (and others) be careful using these UV lamps ... UV is extremely dangerous for the skin. So don't ever expose your sking to these lamps; please wear proper gloves or use a different method to cure the resin.
ОтветитьAmazing
ОтветитьI climbed down the rabbit hole of table top crafting last year and I have so fucking much to discover and try...😮
