If this doesn't bore you to death you are some kind of super human.
ОтветитьThank you for the wonderful information
ОтветитьHow does she skip the most important thing, which is to get your book covered with mylar to prevent UV fading of the jacket..
ОтветитьThank you. I have about 500 books. Most are in the attic. Darn
ОтветитьAnother tip: read your books (or at least turn through the pages once in a while). The natural oils from your fingers help keep the pages from becoming brittle over time. Reading books keeps them alive!
ОтветитьShould books be stored upright across a shelf (so you can read the words on the binding) or in a few piles of, say 5 or 6 books. It seems that storing them upright would put undue pressure on the binding...?
ОтветитьMold tip. I got a few books from my grandmother’s house a few years ago. They were definitely mild smelling. I put them in Ziploc Freezer Bags, perfectly sealed so that no air or moisture could get in, in the freezer overnight. It killed the mold and no residual problems. I got the tip from a friend who had bed bug problems and it was an effective way for her to get rid of the bed bugs. Works for mold too!
ОтветитьeBooks, it's the way of the future.
Ответитьwhat about dust?
