Thannk you for a great detail review of Z 50. I am willing to buy a camera for wildlife photography, specially for birding. Will Z50 be a good choice over D 7500 in this scenario? How the Nikkor 70-200 mm and 200-500 mm lenses will perform with FTZ adaptor in Z50? Is the focusing power of Z50 quite enough good for "bird or wild animal" tracking?

Hey just wanted to know if I use ftz mount and use my 35 mm so will it be 35 mm or will it become 52 mm due to the crop factor of the z50?

The xe3 is on sale for $500 Z50 just got put on sale for a thousand with the kit lens a really tough call or street photography documentary and some portraits.. I'm curious how the Nikon sensor performance with vintage lenses I know you can turn on the VR. The Fuji Center does pretty good with the most vintage lenses every once in awhile I get one that doesn't work well it just doesn't gel

Under perfect conditions can every camera focus... When I saw the review of a professional Wedding photograph with the New Nikon Z7 II I could agree... 90% of his pictures were in focus.... And even the NIkon camera gives his green signal that the focus is correct it is not always so! After testing and trying my best... I quit the Nikon Z ... Honesty all of the DSLR cameras from NIkon are focusing better and faster than any Nikon Z! For instance, the model is standing outside and I use a flashlight (fill flash 2 stops) against the brighter background... Guess not all pictures are in focus... In the forest, I tried my best it was not possible to focus on the face with the hairs. A camera that cannot focus reliable is not worth to buy !

Z50 is a nice with DX lenses only, as it does not has sensor image stabilization, which make it usless with S series Z lenses. So this is something that I want in next z50 or z70 model, in order to replace my D5300. Or make sharper Z kit DX 18-55 mm f/2.8 VR and Z DX35mm f/1.8 VR lenses. Then it make a sense to buy this gadjet, otherwise another brand is welcome.

So in this camera you can't move your focussing point with the touch screen while you're looking through de EVF? Nikon hasn't implemented It in newer firmwares either? In my old d5500 I can do that and was very useful but I don't find anywhere if the z50 has this function like the other Z cameras and the olds DSLR with touchscreen.

I'm looking to upgrade to the Nikon Z50 and I have been looking everywhere and I can find any information confirming 100% that my (sigma DC 17-70mm 1:2.8-4 Macro HSM) will work with Nikon Z50. Can anybody tell me if my sigma would work on the Nikon Z50? thank you in advance.

I've been using my own Z50 for almost a year now, I bought it in July 2021. Actually got a really good deal, got it through Amazon Warehouse Deals in "acceptable" condition for just 570€ as a bundle with the FTZ adapter. Description said it was supposed to have scratches and the screen was supposed to "have blemishes" but it was "usable", what ever that means. But what I got was actually brand new! No scratches, no blemishes, even still wrapped up.
And I love this camera. 3D tracking could be better but the image quality is awesome. Battery life is a mixed bag though, some times I got around 800 shots out of one battery charge, other times just around 300. I guess it depends a lot on the settings and temperature.
One essential piece of kit I'd recommend though is the SmallRig vlogging plate, specifically the newer version they sell. There is no official grip extension for this camera but the vlogging plate adds about half a centimeter to the bottom of the camera which is just enough so all my fingers fit onto the grip. And the new version of the plate still allows you to access the battery and SD card compartment so you don't have to remove the plate every time you swap the battery :)

I took care of the flip screen/tripod/monopod problem by getting a SmallRig bracket for the Z50.
I just mount the camera vertically or have it connected to the right of the bracket. You’ll have to remove the bracket to access the battery and SD card, but it’s not much of a hassle.

Could you please advise on shooting wildlife. Sometimes the camera chooses a leaf instead of the bird. Can I make sure this doesn't happen beforehand with a setting?

Top notch video. I bought the 2 lens kit and I leave the 16-50mm lens home. I have a Nikon 200-500mm 5.6 lens that I use. I only need 2. Lenses for my use. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. ❤❤❤
