Great quick explanation! I do like mine to add some "air" to some wine. I also have an aerating filter to use on the older bottles to filter out the sediment. (LOVE LOVE LOVE the necklace!)

Great ideas for some alternative decanters! I don't have one because my apartment is tiny and - as you say - it's a pain to clean, so I can't be bothered. I'll just keep swirling iny glass!

Air (totally true...bitch to clean those!) Also...i have to laugh because I dig the beaker idea...but I'm way more likely to have a decanter than a beaker. (but now I might buy some for picnics) LOL.
