If you made two layers ... One for background and for one the foreground ... And finally shifted the background maybe a quarter screen size down. It would feel like the direction of the light is coming from top left.

if the lights are straight liek that then it means that the light source is coming from the front. meaning all of the face has to be lit up no only half.
if the light source was on the side then the light should be distorted because of oersoective
