Guy gave your mom a paid for physical video game at her job. That's very odd. People were not in the habit of giving away game CDs they bought. Especially to a woman because most women didn't play video games back then. And the choice of game too is odd being a horror game. I'm thinking he was trying to hit on your mom. LOL

Not 1 single resident evil game has come close to the original Ps1 Resi for atmosphere and setting. The soundtrack was excellent too

I didnt play re 1 til 2022, and i had tried almost every resident evil game and always enjoyed them but never was that scared or fell in love with any of them and really thought i wouldnt like re 1, but wow it’s the best one to me. And i found it genuinely scary without trying to hard.

I started with Resident Evil VII and since then it's been one of my favorite gaming series, and I consider the police station from RE2 remake to be one of the best designed locations in games, it's amazing how everything is connected there

The world ** in general needs more happiness and positivity . Just you being hyper does have a chain reaction. Saying hi nicely to a stranger making your coffee does have an impact man. We just dont see it because people dont say what they like because they take it for granted.

my first Resi experience was RE1 on PS1 ... me and a friend played our way through it after school back in the 90's, what a thrill and I remember being whipped by the plant in the greenhouse scaring the life out of me! The closest 'ghost house' experience I've had outside of the franchise has to be the first OutLast, yikes. Great video Jake!

Great video! First RE game was Resident Evil 2 98 - took me a little while to get used to the control, but oh man I live that game. I think it’s the game I’ve finished the most. The atmosphere, the puzzles, Leon and Claire, the music, just love all of it so much!

The first RE really does hit different, I started with OG on the Playstation but I kinda prefer playing the gamecube remake of it. Would love to see RE1 get the remaster treatment 2,3 & 4 got would drop SO much money on that. If you like OG RE then might be worth checking out Tormented Souls, its a good game and some of the puzzles are legit hard but plays like RE in lots of ways

RE5 was my first, I wasn't allowed to play it so I gave my friend a bunch of lunch money I saved up and would play it late at night super sneaky like. Good memories

Everything about the remake is genius: the visuals, the puzzles, the spooky and tense atmosphere, the gameplay where you have to figure out which route to take and what items to bring, it's absolutely brilliant. I haven't played the OG (and tbh I was too scared to play RE2, I had a demo disk with it but the music and the noises zombies made were too much for the 8 year old me😄), so I played the remake a few years ago on my PS4 and I think it's one of the best video games ever made and a stellar remake. Thanks Jake, it's always nice to hear about RE1, great video!

RE Remake is so good. The only thing I miss from the OG is the voice acting. It’s so bad in the original that it’s good.

I love resident evil 1. I played it for the first time 2 years ago and even after playing all the others and all the silent hill games as well as many other horror games since, it's just still my favorite horror game. It's genuinely so good.

As well my first game was the original RE1 and I fell in love with the series from that point. Now I stayed a committed fan until we got to RE5. I wasn’t a big fan of that game at all. I was hoping for more RE4 gameplay but it wasn’t and felt kinda weird with the two people that needed to be controlled. It wasn’t like an updated RE0 but worse lol. I’ve never played 7 or any of the new (from RE6 and forward) ones. I really wish they would remake Code Veronica because that was an AMAZING game with better tank controls and really brought a lot of fun and difficulty to the series. But of course these are all just my opinions and not facts.

Days late to this party, but my mom got me the Resident Evil 2 DualShock version and it was awesome showing her the game. So I respect the mom thing lol. 🎉

The remake of the first ‘RE’ is, in my opinion, the best introduction for both the ‘RE’ franchise and the survivor-horror genre

If you play the Remakes on NGC, make sure you play it on a CRT. You'll be surprised how good it still looks with the fixed camera angles and rendered backgrounds.

Man i wanna play resident evil 1. I played a little bit of RE2 remake when it came to gamepass but just really didn't care or know anything about it so I feel like I should go play that now.

I bought Resident Evil Village on Halloween. Having fun with it. Not really into horror games. But Resident Evil 2, the original, is one of my favorite games of all time

I played the GameCube version first and fell in love with it! I did die the first time I saw the zombie though as I never played a survival horror game before 😂

I cannot understate just how good the graphics were in the Resi Remake at the time. Playing this in the early 00s on a CRT late at night, it just looked SO realistic.

The original resident evil will always be my favorite. It really blew my mind when it came out and felt like one of the first true ‘adult’ games to take serious.

To this day RE1 is my favorite. I played RE3 as my first, then RE2 and RE1 last. Yet, that game had the best setting for me. Just love Spancer Mansion.

RE2 N64 circa '99

Was at a friends for a video game get together. 2 couples and 3 single dudes. The last guy to show up has the original release of Resident Evil. None of us had heard of it. The apartment we were at had the perfect setting. We all sat watching 1 person play, no complaining just everyone freaking out. It was AWESOME!

I’m a late bloomer that never really liked horror, but the remakes got me fully-in and after those I went back and played the originals. It’s such an iconic series that just does it all perfectly. Now it might be my favorite franchise, rip MGS.

RE1 and Silent Hill 2 OG or remake of each are the perfect Halloween games.

I usually always play some resident evil remake on October but this year i decided to play some games i never played. Played a double feature of my own with Shadow Man & Shadows of the damned. What a trip and unsettling atmosphere from both.

I had that exact moment with this game, it terrified me for years. I always had to rush through it as fast as I could. First zombie when he turned his head stayed in my nightmares, but also put me on the path to loving zombies more than any other type of monster.

My first resident evil was 7 and trying to do VR with it, then 2 remake and so on. One of my favourite game franchises now. Resident 7 still being my favourite.

I think resident evil 1 remake is the best looking video game of all time. Not in terms of graphical fidelity, realism, effects or any of that newer stuff- just in terms of the visual style, the atmosphere and the storytelling within every room. It’s a must play for all horror fans and arguably the best survival horror game ever made

My first resident evil was 2 back in 1999 then I traded need for speed with a friend of mine for re3 nemesis, once I was done with metal gear solid I played it and never looked back I was a fan from the moment I started the game till is day. Is funny cuz I started with 2 then 3 and then 1 mind you I played 1 2months before the remake came out on the GameCube 🤣
