QotD: I only have a couple of in box figures, but just because they are MIB and rare.

Sadly I want this figure just cause I need him in this suit, but there’s no way I’m paying full price. I’ll wait for eBay or just hope it goes on sale later

Adam Warlock lucked out with his face, maybe its the whited out eye design, but it still
looks great for a comic book look, not too realistic, and the costume designe also
lent itself to be cleaner with the paints and plastics. So I am overall happy with that one.

I can appreciate a good package but it doesn't matter at the end of the day, i want whats inside
The hasbro retro packages are cool but they do it just so they dont include baf parts while keeping the price the same or even making it even higher so yeah

I do enjoy looking at good packaging artwork for figures but won't keep them (space considerations and I didn't buy the figure for the box). On a side note, I'm sure Hasbro will justify the blister card as premium packaging, which costs more hence the subtraction of the BAF part/s.

Personally, I liked it when Hasbro was doing the windowless packaging. Didn't have to pry the figure out of the stupid tray. No annoying little plastic ties or tape holding the figure and accessories in the package. Most everything could be recycled, so you could just chuck it into the bin.

I collect the toys, not boxes. The only thing about packaging that I do really like is the artwork. Whenever I get a new figure, I clip any art that I want to keep and throw it into a baggie with any extra accessories. That way I know who came with what.

I needed this version of Banshee to complete the Claremont/Byrne team (my favorite era for X-Men)

Not the best, but not terrible, and certainly way way better than the first one they put out years ago. I wouldn't accept that first one even if it was free 😂

The cloth wings are too huge.🙄 Hasbro should have gone with modified cloth wings similar to Spider-Man webs underneath both arms.

Well, to modify: take the wings, sew each folded piece, keep the arms as is, and make two slits on the back to insert the green plastic pieces used to hold unto the legs, and then put it together.

You'll then have full range of motion for the arms, and most importantly, it'll look just like the wings in the comic book version.

Only way I cared about packaging was when i was a kid, did not have access to the internet, and used the backside of the cardboard to see the other figures and select which one I wanted next when my dad went on his work trips and I did well in school and my chores. (Yes, thankfully i had an awesome childhood).

I only have a few action figures in box: Imports, all the SOTA , and ReSauraus Street Fighter action figures are hanging on my wall in box. I have the JADA Street Fighter and Megaman boxes also hanging on my wall. When not being displayed I put them back into the box. I wanted to keep the full resell value of my figures. Now that SOTA figures are being replaced by JADA it's because I love Capcom games. Also, the last time I opened a SOTA figure (Dhalsim) that had been on my wall 20+ years it broke at the joint the moment I tried to move it. No point in opening mint condition figures if they snap the moment you move them. I used to save Marvel Legends boxes, but that's just habit. There are no rare Legends characters. Given enough time Hasbro will make an update.

I hate the card backs that you can't reseal. They did it to get people to buy 2. One MOC and one to open. This body type sucks so bad. Hate the ab crunch and the trigger finger hands. I bought Ka-zar and returned him. I picked up Cammy instead. She can stand on one leg. The gap in quality between MLs and Jada is an insurmountable chasm for Hasbro. This character and all his variants are wack. The figures are fcuking sihte.

This Comic wave are the first Marvel Legends I've found in store in a really long time. Although I've never seen ROM unfortunately because he's the only figure from this wave I still want but don't have yet.
I like when packaging looks nice but simple. I actually really like the new boxes for Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series, and Transformers Generations because they look pretty good but aren't too busy.

I hate when hasbro just decos the gloves and boots, especially above the articulation cuts. It always looks so cheap and lazy. This figure is a perfect example of that. The one sided soft goods doesn’t do it any favors either. 🚮

I've been collecting Legends since they were called 'Spider-Man Classics'. lol! I gotta say, I'm really not impressed with the Legends offerings the last year or two, and I've backed off considerably from buying them. I DID pick up this Banshee, as well as the Rom and Adam Warlock from this wave, but my Legends purchases are way down. The mini-comics, as a pack-in 'feature', suck. No discernable use for them whatsoever.

I thought bringing out the Vulcan body mold and updating the facial sculpts would mean a better quality figure; instead, I'm just feeling a lot more disappointment. Hasbro seems determined to proceed with Maximum Series, which I have no intention of supporting, so I'm assuming if there ARE any improvements, they will eventually go to that line. (From the reviews I've seen online, a lot of people aren't impressed with the price point for the Spider-Man, and the Hulk is just overpriced junk.) We're going to get lots of repaint/reuse in the main Legends line, I'd wager.

As for Legends showing up in stores, yeah...I stopped looking, and have been buying mine online the last few years. There are 3 Walmarts within a 15-minute drive of my place, and another an hour away, and the figure aisles are full of Transformers, Titan Heroes, WWE, and maybe some Mattel stuff. I don't collect McFarlane DC figures, so I don't know how updated the selection is, but there are always tons of those out, as well. Walmart's toy section always looks like a tornado hit it, no matter what time of day you go there...another perk.

Banshee should always come with two heads one that’s screaming and one that’s not. I’m with you on packaging. They should just make two releases one with the fancy box for display cost a little bit more than one with a really simple box that cost a little less for those people who open their figures.

I feel like if people keep buying from Hasbro, it's because they release a lot of characters and fast. I didn't say it's a good thing if the figures are bad, but one of the problem in the collecting world is when 10 different companies make the same 3 popular characters from an IP in different scales and then stopped.
Look at the Street Fighter IP
Jada is doing SF2 and doesn't have plans to do more
Storm is doing more than SF2 but they make 1 figure a year (sometimes more, but not in the same IP) They are slow and they still make several versions of the same character (and not the ones they screw up, more like SF6 Ryu, Evil Ryu, SF5 Bison, SF2 Bison. Still no decent Cammy, they avoid female figures)
Yeah they are better figures but people may choose to look elsewhere when they notice that would take 20 years to finish a Storm SF collection. In 10 years we may be all dead (or just over the collecting hobby, to be less grim^^)
And I didn't even use the best example because with several companies like that, Street Fighter fans have better choices than before. But still, it's hard to have all the characters we want at the same scale, with the same style, at the same price, without waiting forever, etc. We may have to mix Jada with Storm Arena (if they are true 1/12) to be able to have SF Alpha characters AND SF2 characters.

I think people have hope (not me, not anymore) that Hasbro can still make or remake their favorite characters better because let's be honest, they CAN if they wanted. And they CAN be fast, they have huge factories. If people were waiting for...I don't know, Mafex for example, to make 60 characters they like, that would take 20 years (and Mafex probably won't do it anyway)

This is the only Banshee version I want and need. I don't care for the box at all. I don't even care if it's not esthetically pleasing.

This Banshee completes an original team which is all that matters. This Banshee is much better than the original version, which I wouldn't even collect for free.

He has a trigger hand I believe, for holding the magazine
