I wonder if everyone in George’s family are also called George. By the amount of Aegons he used in the books he must be George the 8th by now
ОтветитьThe whole Dorne story would make a great mini series!
ОтветитьWhere are the 2 part videos on Roberts Rebellion and a bunch of other older videos?
Ответить"!"
Take back your words! Even if they could be a parallel.. it's a very small one. Robert is certainly not as bad as Aegon the fourth! bonks
Where's your Robert's Rebellion playlist?! 😢
ОтветитьBro you HAVE to stop rolling the R’s… it sounds so stupid and there is no reason to do it, they aren’t supposed to be rolled… it seriously makes it hard to watch the videos
ОтветитьDuncan the Tall - Barristan Selmy - Bronn - Ancient Valyrian Warriors, please do episodes like this one on all of them.
ОтветитьI wanna see the epic sparring match between Lord Cregan Stark and Prince Aemon
ОтветитьPerhaps this could add to the theory that Jons real name is Aemon, a man who commits to his duty over his desires.
ОтветитьNot sure how much effort it would be -- but there's an "I" missing in the title...
Ответить"His older brother preceded him by half a year" Uhh... did they have different moms? lol Or maybe the younger brother was premature?
ОтветитьI love your animations in this video
Ответить"Aemon's brother Aegon preceded him by about half a year"....this left my quite confused, as it should be biologically impossible for their mother to give birth twice in 6 months. or am I missing something?
ОтветитьThere's no "i" in "team" or "dragonknght"
ОтветитьTargaryens: "because dragons."
The Shepherd: "are you sure about that?"
This was great. I’ve listened twice and each time it was good. One of your best.
ОтветитьCan’t believe you skipped the intro!! It’s a family tradition that we all gather round and recite it along with you - so disappointed that that was snatched from us. Now mum and dad are shouting at each other again.
ОтветитьAmn Drgnknght if you don't like vowels at all
ОтветитьAnother Dornish Dub. Hail Sunspear
ОтветитьI think it's very facile, and I'm pretty sure it's not Martin's intent, to say that this character is that era's Jon Snow, or Sansa or Tyrion or whoever. It's more to say that history tends to repeat itself and that characters probably try to emulate either intentionally or not someone they admired.
Ответить@indeepgeek you always mention the wonderful history of westeros but I can't find the link in the description
ОтветитьAemon and Naerys often reminded me a little bit of Lancelot and Guinevere
ОтветитьThank you Robert!
ОтветитьFascinating video Robert 😀
Ответитьdude give it up! stop with this bs. it's never gonig to be answered. he's not going to finish the book he's been working on for over a decade. he's openly contremptuous of his reader-they are no longer fans, and he's not picking up new readers becasue no one wants to start a series that will never be finished. stop pretending his is a big deal. it's not the new tolkien, it's a lesson in how to f' up a franchise almost as badly as disney does,.
ОтветитьBobby b was a far better king and man ,than the unworthy
ОтветитьAnyone else think that the Targaryen’s were lazy as hell with their naming?? Like total lack of creativity! Maybe that was GRRM’s intention but 🙄🤷🏻♀️
ОтветитьLove the vids, keep up the great work. would be great to see a karstark vid for those who haven't read the books
Ответить“Dealt death to Dornishmen in the deep deserts…” Robert cooking!!!
ОтветитьHe should have killed his brother before he joined the Kingsguard, would have saved the realm a lot of harm what with all the Blackfyre Rebellions and such
ОтветитьI love all the Aemons we know. I sometimes hope it was Jon's intended name too.
ОтветитьOne of the greatest of all time! 🔥
ОтветитьAegon the Unworthy had Aemon the Dragon Knight to lead his Kingsquard,
Aerys the Mad King had a pretty good Kingsguard as well,,,
Seems like the bad kings always had the great Kingsguard
Any chance you'll get into other series at some point? Cosmere? WoT? Gentleman Bastard? Kingkiller Chronicle?
ОтветитьHe was (imo) one of the most important characters in the histories of Westeros. He was selfless in all things. Not a common quality amongst Targaryens. Keep up the great work.
ОтветитьWho else found the spelling mistake in the thumbnail?
ОтветитьHe is daeron the 2nds father.
ОтветитьYou mean king Visery the 2
ОтветитьThat 3-headed dragon helmet looks like it'd be heavy up front. 😅
ОтветитьThe Dragon 🐉 Knight ⚔️ is one of my favorite Targaryens
ОтветитьAnyone who puts duty over morality deserves no respect.
ОтветитьTop notch.
ОтветитьOr or or. Forty dragon riding families, right? Targaryens far from the most powerful. Their dragons were bred for war....so they have slave ancestry or royal ancestry? Like how were the forty families ranked? Based on wealth? Ancestry? How did they divide the wealth initially? Was their relative weak position in the forty families because they were of slave descent or because they were of noble descent (and other dragon riding families kept them in check?). I WANT MORE
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure Jon and Robb played as Aemon and Daeron when they were kids. The young dragon and wolf dying admist their conquest. While the Aemon's continue on gurading the realm through the kingsguard and nights watch.
Ответить"We might even see him on screen someday with his three-headed dragon helm. We can only hope."
Oh, yeah. Really looking forward to more of GRRM's work being turned into absolute garbage.
Aemon the Dragonknight.
The fact that he and Daeron the Young Dragon fought side by side in Dorne is a cool tidbit I feel many people don't really think about often. That must've been a helluva tag team
Also.... man, he and Naerys really had a terrible life, if only Viserys II had taken more care to govern Aegon, or ask the Small Council to have Aemon as the next in line.
Or better yet, cautioned Daeron the Young Dragon a bit more, and ensure he spent more time up in King's Landing. So much that went wrong which led to Aegon IV to become King, and Aemon to end up as a Kingsguard who died in defense of him
Jon Snow's real name in the books.
ОтветитьGreat vid IDG & HoW. Aemon the Dragonknight certainly one of my and many other people's favorite Targaryens ; readers and in-universe characters alike. Refreshing blend of attributes - honorable , noble, brave , dutiful , chivalrous , incredible warrior and does not come across egotistical or arrogant. To me Aemon is basically the antithesis of his brother Aegon IV / the Unworthy. Anything is possible until given clarity but i personally do not think Aemon and Naerys had this accused affair ; both being quite virtuous , pious and dutiful i just don't think either would fully go there despite the desire & temptation. Coupled with that I obviously do not believe Aemon is Daeron II's father.
Personally i think that Aegon IV being such a philanderer and a cruel , petty , corrupt person who was not widely liked or admired. To me he resented what Aemon and Daeron II represented - widely loved & respected, honorable , noble ,competent and moral people ; so that AT4 took it upon himself to try and slander them by imo spreading the false parentage claims. Aemon and Daeron were basically everything that Aegon was not. And as the vid mentioned even so Aemon did not hesitate giving his life saving his brother AT4 , despite the slander and strained relationship. If memory serves even after such an act of valor and the love and respect the masses had for Aemon , AT4 did not properly venerate or mourn Aemon after his death. To me just further clarity that Aegon IV would spread such false rumors given his resentment and agenda against Aemon and Daeron II. Certainly fits AT4's character.
Aemon certainly a great Targ in many of our opinions, refreshingly different to a great many of the rest. And given his honor , selflessness and dutiful side def many parallels to Jon ; which likely gives rise to theories that Aemon is actually Jon's given name at birth , though tbd.
Like if you want to see Robert Rebellion Playlist back!!
ОтветитьLove your vidéos but the ai art in this video was atrocious
