I remember seeing union 13 at the showcase theater and the show wasn’t getting started then finally they hit the stage and they say fuck this place, they are trying to rob us out of money. Fuck this place don’t ever come back and the they started their set. Shit was mad crazy but I felt proud of the raza bc they were about to sign with epitaph

Union 13, Go Down Swinging, Set Aside and Count Time all together in a backyard is all you need for the best night of your life! Best show of my life, truly changed my life. I miss those days so bad!

Best show of my life, truly changed my life was Union 13 and some hard azz white fools Go Down Swinging in a straight up back yard in East Los. Whole neighborhood was moshing that’s how hard it was and everyone was family! Go down swinging singer talked about how much he respected us for being punks and living in gang neighborhoods and how we were the only true punks around. He said all this sheet and it really hit me in a powerful way. I did get jumped harassed made fun of chased home bc of how I dressed. Go Down Swingings singer made me feel like I finally had a home and all the bands like Union and Count Time and Go down Swinging saved my life that night. God I wish they still put on shows like back then. It was my church

I had Jose in guitar class at Garfield hs back in 94, jamming out with him and others to all the current and classic punk rock jams, watching him rip daily on the guitar was truly something I will never forget , I was in the presence of greatness… miss them days and and the East LA /Boyle Heights back yard gigs punk scene
