It came on whilst having the hardest conversation me and my wife have ever had, and I thought I was gonna loose the song after that, but it's only inspired me creatively, to plow into our troubles and turn them into art. This is a beautiful song. I don't know what Angie 's end game is here, but I do know what I personally gather from this song. To me it is basically about two things. First, being in a relationship that doesn't work that one will never do again because of the consequences, the other the hope that the feelings the relationship evoked will indeed happen again, regardless of the consequences; because the loving that we've earned is going to keep us breathing no matter how it happened. That's why, to me, "If you call" is a beautiful song.
