I had a moment today of being super excited for the next expansion. Unfortunately, we still have a long wait for that.

1. M'uru's Capture and Exploitation:
Following the fall of Tempest Keep, Kael'thas Sunstrider ordered M'uru to be taken to Silvermoon.
Blood elf magisters then imprisoned M'uru and siphoned his Light energies to empower the Blood Knights and potentially find an alternative to the Sunwell's destruction.
This act was considered controversial and even cruel, particularly by those who hadn't fully embraced the use of siphoned Light.
2. M'uru's Sacrifice and Redemption:
However, unbeknownst to the blood elves at the time, M'uru's capture was part of a larger plan foreseen by the draenei prophet Velen.
M'uru willingly allowed himself to be captured, knowing that his eventual sacrifice would help redeem the blood elves and lead them away from the darkness that Kael'thas was embracing.
M'uru was ultimately used to rekindle the Sunwell, restoring the blood elves' source of Holy Light and ending their reliance on siphoned energy.
In essence, M'uru's captivity and subsequent sacrifice ultimately served to benefit the blood elves, although not in the way they initially intended.

M'uru didn't just let himself get beaten by the blood elves, he actually secretly conferred the Light through those rituals of blood magic because Velen prophesied him to, and that was enough.
