There are lots of mixed opinions about stocks and there projection in the next coming years, I aim for short term solid gains from market correction and I'd definitely jump on the boat if I knew a thing or two about day-trading, but then again what do I really know? I'm just looking for the right moves to grow and hedge my stagnant reserve of $370k from inflation.

Democrats are black supremacist/ antifa supporting trash. That being said I’ve heard for six years+ how the world economy is gonna crash and it hasn’t happened yet. BUT I’m rooting for burry and want the global economy to crash people need to realize that democrats are trash as is what they touch namely the US economy.

This demonstrates the impressive intellect of these individuals.

Here’s the problem: That math is incorrect. First, according to Whale Wisdom, Michael Burry’s Scion Asset Management’s entire AUM is $237,971,170 — significantly less than the $1.6 billion cited. Michael Burry did buy puts in the SPY and the QQQ, but the $1.6 billion noted is notional value, not present value. Notional value in 13-F filings reveals the maximum possible value of the options — meaning a put bought at the $400 strike has a notional value of $40,000 — that’s the maximum value that the put could reach. With that said, that put option could have cost the user a significantly smaller premium, depending on how far out of the money it was, and the expiration date. Additionally, the 2 million units represented in the 13-F were listed in share-equivalent, not option contracts. Because option contracts represent 100 shares of a stock, that 2 million units actually represents 20,000 option contracts in each ETF — 40,000 total.

While this trade was still notable, and 40,000 contracts is still a very large trade, it’s worthwhile to note that this likely represents a fraction of the 93% portfolio weight originally reported by several social media names and websites. Additionally, 13-F filings can be tricky to trade on — because this represents ownership as of June 30th, these puts could have already been sold, rolled, or even added to. We simply will never know what Michael Burry was holding on August 14th, the day of the 13-F release — the closest we’ll get is seeing Burry’s next 13-F filing, which will be released months from now.

It's just an insurance policy should the market tank.

This guy Burry is a one-trick pony. He runs this the-sky-is-falling schtick every 6 months and then sells his position when the market dips a little bit from the hysteria. He's actually been wrong more times than he's been right.

I recall his last stunt was tweeting "Sell" and then deleting his twitter account for maximum dramatic effect. He's since re-activated his twitter account because he wants to run the same schtick again.

Depends on the types of puts he’s buying…and/or selling, he’s a hedge fund manager and you will never get to know the real strategy and the true amounts he is putting into the market. He’s brilliant and the bet he made against the housing industry in 08 was brilliant. Everyone could see that bubble but there was so much money going around. I started in banking in 2007 and the first thing I did out of college was applied for a credit card. I got a credit limit of .25,000 lol. I maxed that bad boy out among others and in the end it all came back to haunt me but hey that’s money baby 🎉

Dr Michael Burry is one of the most brilliant investors in history. Very few can ever come close to what he has accomplished. The man read thousands of pages and finally found one of the biggest opportunities to make money and plunged. When he speaks, I listen.

People also have to realize that Dr Michael Burry took an enormous amount of capital and took a huge risk at something very few people have the stomach to do. People talk, but not everyone has the guts to make millions od dollar bet against housing, especially back in 2002-2003 when nobody saw it. Good for him though for taking his money. People should also read Andrew Lahdes goodbye letter when he said see you later sucker and took his money and quit Wall Street. He said I have enough and walked. He was fine sitting on the sidelines with his money.

Interesting , the stock market is currently experiencing a decline while bond yields are on the rise. However, there seems to be skepticism amongst investors regarding the Federal Reserve's plan to continue increasing interest rates until inflation is stabilized. As for myself, I find myself at a crossroads, uncertain whether to liquidate my $250,000 stock portfolio> I'm seeking advice on the best strategy to capitalize on this current bear market.

Corrections in the market can occasionally occur after market peaks, but it can be difficult to forecast when and how big they will be. A'massive' correction has been mentioned by some analysts that I have heard. It makes me wonder if I should make any changes to my $10 million portfolios, or even think about making some defensive investments.

I recommend diversifying your investments by considering stocks alongside real estate. During a recession, there are potential buying opportunities in the stock market if approached cautiously. Additionally, market volatility can offer short-term buying and selling opportunities. However, please note that this is not financial advice. It's important to be proactive in investing as cash may not be the most advantageous option during these times.
