Damn, you guys need to do this more often. Throw Kyle in as well. So interesting
Ответить1989. 🖖
ОтветитьJohn Riggins was definitely a cool guy. I loved the Washington Redskin team during that time.
ОтветитьTenacity the virtue.
ОтветитьThe Art of being an athlete. Professional athletes are a marvel. I ❤ Athletes, I ❤ Astronauts, I ❤️ Humans.
ОтветитьMy dad was the biggest Philly sports fan. He Always loved your dad and considered him a Philly native (Villanova). He died suddenly 5 years ago and hearing your opening and your dad starting to talk made me cry.
ОтветитьThe view behind howie is amazing! Go raiders ! Great pod!
ОтветитьLove these segments. Looking forward to the day we get the whole family on.
ОтветитьThe only way Dallas is going to make the playoff's is putting Jerry Jones on Dancing with Stars and keeping him out of Dallas.....
ОтветитьI straight up love Howie Long, always have, always will. His kids aint bad either... :)
Ответить“Old man” by Neil young is a banger. So is “don’t let it bring you down”
ОтветитьThis is cool. I just watched the Phil Sims pod he has with his son Matt this week. I like these Father Son pods in which both played in the league.
ОтветитьHowie‼️ My favorite d-liner/dad talking about my favorite running back‼️💪🏾 Priceless‼️💯
ОтветитьPatrick had 3 times as many wins coming from behind as Brady
ОтветитьIf Dallas pays him again they deserve to lose every game they need to move on from him and start Fresh for God sakes Alex Smith did better in the playoffs
ОтветитьAgain in my opinion the main problem is they're trying to get to 18 games that shouldn't even went from 16 to 17 and the other problem is that people are getting paid more money just because they're free agents and not their stats
ОтветитьThe craziest part to me was is how many NFL players and professionals thought the Chiefs's 49ers Super Bowl was gonna end after the first quarter
Ответить1. Brady played in an era when defensive players were actually allowed to tackle the QB. In today's game, if the defender cannot gently tackle the QB WHILE HE IS RUNNING WITH THE FOOTBALL, they must abandon pursuit, and allow him to pickup the first down, touchdown, etc. The new kickoff rules should have put touchbacks back to the 15 yard line to throw defenses a bone. It really is hard for me to watch because many of the plays we see a QB make in today's NFL are only because the defenders are forced to allow him to. He really isn't capable of making the play. The hit Brian Cox put on Drew Bledsoe would result in a six game to entire season suspension in today's NFL. Even crazier was in AFC Championship that year when Brady got hurt, and Bledsoe came in to finish the game. Bledsoe is scrambling, he makes it clear to the defender that he is no longer trying to gain yardage and turns to run straight out of bounds, and the defender still drills him. In today's NFL, the QB will pretend to give himself up, so the defender relents on his pursuit of QB, the QB then turns up field to gain 5-25 more yards, pounds his chest and screams like he's hard. It drives me crazy. It really is an insult to guys like Cam Newton, whom refs openly told they would not protect him. Cam Newton was a beast.
2. Jim Harbaugh will make Mahomes' job MUCH harder so long as he is coaching in the AFC West.
3. Watching the 2001-2004 Patriots' defenses. They are historically great, and do not get nearly as much recognition as they deserve.
Great episode!! Love the Neil reference.
ОтветитьLife long Raiders fan, because of Howie Long. But seeing him just chop it up with his son is top notch 😎🤌🏽
ОтветитьWhere has Kyle been? He would have been a great partner for you
ОтветитьLove hearing his stories of when he played!! He was one of a kind! Absolute beast! My dream fight Howie vs Lyle that's made for your pay-per-view!!
ОтветитьAny chance of getting Mom on the pod? I'm sure we would get some great stories about all of you!
ОтветитьI love when howies on. So much old school insight I love it
ОтветитьHowie, I feel like I’ve grown up with
you. I think even better than Football 🏈 the best thing you have
done is meet & marry your wife.
This is our 39th year along the
Colorado River on the Arizona side.
It sure has changed. We own a small

always welcome.
Be safe. Be well. 🌺🏖️🏈💙💃🏻
Love it when your dad joins the show! Can't wait to see him back on again soon. Fly Eagles Fly
Ответитьanytime you have with your dad on I'm all in! Did you ever want to play for the Raiders growing up? does your younger brother work for the Raiders still as a premium sales consultant?
ОтветитьHell yeah
ОтветитьHowie Long is my forever celebrity crush ❤
ОтветитьYour mom and dad did such an awesome job of raising you boys! Must be quite proud of both!
ОтветитьLegendary. Loved watching Howie play in the Colosseum when I was a kid.. now in my mid 40s and a father of two sons. Love watching him interact with his son.
ОтветитьSo glad I found this podcast
ОтветитьMy RAIDER HOWIE LONG one of the greats!✊🏿
ОтветитьGreat episode! You both are high quality men! When I was just out of college, mid eighties I was at Larry Krystowiaks place, neighbors with your families place. We were hoping and your Grandfather came over. Wow, Howie Longs Dad! Flathead is beautiful, my grandparents had a place on Blue Bay. Love the MT talk!
ОтветитьWhat an awesome father!! Love seeing how your relationship continues to evolve together❣️🙏
ОтветитьImagine playing pickup ball against Howie in the 80’s during the nfl offseason😳 good luck guarding him in the low post!!😂
ОтветитьLoving this interview. I'd say Brian Bosworth has a cool factor and long time Raider Lester Hayes! Him and his one tone all leather ensembles!
ОтветитьThat was totally awesome.
Ответитьwhen i first went to LA if they put ice in my glass i was pissed, they were stealing my coke,i would say to the server no ice,it was cold enough out of the machine.i went to the game at wembley raiders v saints, saints won,i s
ОтветитьGreat show! Loved the last segment: I'm not as tall or big as you guys, but it does make it a bitch to buy clothes that fit. BTW, Chris. Don't knock that top shelf duty. After 44 years I think it's the only reason my wife keeps me around. I loved it when the Raiders came to town. There was a little men's store in Redondo Beach that catered to athletes w/ lots of Italian clothes. Miss that place. G/Go in Riviera Village. Spent way too much money there in the 80's.
ОтветитьLOVE HOWIE,BEAST OF A PLAYER
ОтветитьEven though I’m a life long Green Bay fan, Howie has always been one of my favorite players! Just an absolute beast! Howie also has some of the greatest stories! I read in a book by the Raiders internist, that when Howie woke up from knee surgery performed by the teams ortho doc, he yelled “My God, Rosenberg operated on me with a broken beer bottle”! Still makes me laugh out loud when I think of it!
Great book for any Raiders fan!
“Don’t worry it’s just a bruise” by Dr. Huizenga (I think).
I have to admit, I stepped away from listening to Green Light. Just took a break. I listened to other football podcasts, even baseball podcasts, but never felt the same connection as I had with Green Light.
So, coming back, listening to Howie Long on Green Light gave me my mojo back.
Chris and his team have got this just right. No disrespect to other pods but Green Light is my go to pod to listen to when I'm driving to work or on longer drives.
Thanks guys. Shout out to all the Green Light crew.
Howie, class guy, great player a wonderful father a beautiful human being
ОтветитьMoving over to flathead lake. Where's some good spots to check out
