low level stimulation? My collar has beep vibrate and shock. should i skip the beep and just start with vibrate?

When is the correction applied...at the time of the call or when there s a refusal?

Hey my pup, Ella the Belgian shepherd/husky mix, sees the e collar in a negative and bad experience. How can I turn it into a good experience or should I just focus on another way of recalling her?

defiantly enlightened! always seen dogs with shock collars and gone hmm.. but my mate lent me one as my girls ears can be very painted on and can ignore my voice when on bush walks, i started using this a day ago , just using a very low vibrate and the sound and her head comes up and i have her attention so much quicker ! no shocking needed !! thank you so much for teaching us the correct way.

I have never seen a recall video yet with a “real life” recall situation. Training your dog to recall with treats as a reward is really easy, getting it 100% when the dog is super stimulated with something he or she wants more than kibble is a whole different thing. These videos never show that, therefore do shock collars really work? Dogs need consequences that outweigh bad choices, just like their mother teaches them or their pack. Unfortunately this philosophy does sell….

I have a spaniel 7 months old, recall is great off lead until he sees another dog then runs over to play but the last one was aggressive. Do you think an e collar would help with this?

E Collars have now been banned in the UK for very good reason -They are cruel and they can make problems worse.

When you first get a e collar should you practice in your yard for the first few days or could you go on a walk with him and use it as well? Back ground on my dog he’s very good to verbal cues, he’s just dog reactive. I would really want to be able to fix that issue an move up to no leash. For me no leash would be like when I go hiking, the beach or want to explore with him

My 50 lb one year old Lab uses an e collar. I find that I need it on 25 c to get her attention. Is that too high? She comes like a bullet when I need it though.

What if my dogs off leash recall is already very reliable?
Do I still have to take it slow, or can I pace acording to my dog?

I’m from the UK and I have an XL bull puppy and he’s 8 months old. He’s incredibly smart and knows when the leash is off, so he takes his time to come back and if he sees something he really “likes” he will not hear a single word, not see anything else and do exactly what it is that he “likes”. He’s never bitten anyone and is not aggressive to dogs, people or anything, he’s had kids slap him on the eyes and tug on him, he’s had dogs nip at his face because they’re scared or bark at him and he couldn’t care less, so his temperament is lovely. He just loves everyone, so I don’t want him running up to someone to say hello, they get spooked and hit him and he bites them back (even if he does it lightly, because of the bad press in the Uk, he will get put down immediately). Thank you so much for this video, I put off getting the e collar for so long because there’s so many trainers out there making videos about it just to say “buy my online course for the little price of £1000 to find out how to use the e collar”. Great to see a trainer that just cares about spreading the message to whoever needs it.

I have a question about the introduction of the e-collar. Is it a good idea to introduce it to my dog 10 months old, who is trained to about 80% success rate indoors with no distractions, but has not been very obedient when we are out in the fields. I think she has some of a hunting dog DNA, sience she is mixed breed and we do not know who the father is.
Her mother is part border collie who has been known to be a good listener and would go out and chase small animals all the time. Our dog is the same but she just wont listen to my recall command. Just a few days ago my dog ran away from my brother under our fence and right on to the busy street 500m away (about 1/3 of a mile) and almost got hit by a car. And I do not want to see her get hit by a car. That is the reason I bought the dogtra 280C e-collar.

Do you apply the stim again if he gets distracted on his way to you after a recall?

I need help, I'm not happy that educator mentions in their manual to utube educator. There's so many different trainers, no 2 are alike. To make a long story short, I hired a trainer for off leash and recall training. We worked with a prong (which I was already using, not my first gsd) the trainer talked me into educator 900 for recall as I have no fence. Our first session with the ecollar, he did things with it, I have no clue as to how. He told me to just put it on for fun things without it powered up until our next session. It's now been 2 weeks of waiting for my next session so I can get it down (correct use) he's not answering my emails and I've been left in the dark. I signed up for 5 sessions. That was 6 weeks ago and I have 1 lesson left. Its ridiculous that in 7 weeks im still no better off. Lessons are far and few in between.I can't afford another trainer now and do not want to misuse the ecollar. Can anyone recommend one consistent series of ecollar use with one trainer? I'm beyond frustrated. Wasted 1500 bucks so far since getting my puppy a year ago. Can anyone help me.

I have been watching your videos and they are super helpful. I think I started using the e-collar incorrectly and now one of my dogs acts aggressively when I use it. Lucky it has only been used on 2 trainings. How can I restart the process? Also the dog is 10.
I am also looking in to a local trainer.

Dude THANK YOU!! First time using E-Collar this evening...My 9 month PitCorso knows sit, lay, paw and crate but outside off leash she's like a wild dog and within 10 mins after watching your video she responded to every come!! Never has she done that!

What is the “stimulation” my e collar has 3 modes, sound,virbration and Shock. I use the shock as stimulation at low levels am I using it right?

But I thought when the dog is coming to u u shouldn’t do something negative? How come the dog doesn’t take it as a negative to come?
And I’m not against e collars I’m just trying to understand 100% before I use it. I just got it.

I don't believe anyone needs to spend $250 on an E-Collar. I got a Pawpro on Amazon for $50 and it has all the bells and whistles.
