@Sweetbeats' Tech Stop I actually got a different m520, in absolutely perfect cosmetic shape but I seem to have a problem. When I source tape on a channel (any channel), I get nothing on the fader. I know the jacks are working cause I can hear it if I switch the monitor section to tape, but I can't figure out how to run the tape ins through the channel and route them to busses. Is this normal and I'm missing something or is something busted?
ОтветитьHi ! I’m the forum user who asked you for help on that subject. 1st of all thank you so much, having a detailed video about my exact problem is way more than I could have hoped for. I’ll respond to you on the forum as soon as I get back home from touring, that’s why I haven’t responded sooner.
Thanks a million !!
Louis
Hey! How would recap the power supply for the M-520. I’m not skilled in electronics/repairing.
ОтветитьHi sweetbeats. I read you story about refurbishing the m520. I have used this board for 5 years now and love it. I have a question tho. I few channels stopped working, and a couple are lower than the others in volume, would this be old capacitors? I believe then to be all original. The master fader does wonderful things to the two mix on this board. I can’t say enough about this console. Thanks for any help
ОтветитьGreetings Sweetbeats! Do you happen to still have Tascam M312B parts? I’m looking for some of the female XLR locking jacks. Let me know and much thanks in advance!
ОтветитьI happen to have a Tascam M520 Studio Mixer that needs a set of replacement metal channel strip panels, the original ones have rust and corrosion on them, also, one of the knobs on one channel strip is broken and needs replacing too.
ОтветитьI'm looking at doing some restoration work on my Tascam M520 in the near future, so I can use it as part of my home music studio, I have the desk itself and the power supply, but the umbilical cord that connects the power supply to the desk is missing, the channel strip panels have varying amounts of rust and corrosion on them, I'm looking at doing the restoration work myself, I've been into electronics as a hobby since I was 13 years old, have had some formal training in electronics, can solder and de-solder, fault-find, read schematics, and have test equipment such as a multimeter, audio signal generator, dual-tracking power supply and an analog dual-trace 20MHz oscilloscope, got a full hard copy print-out of the service manual as well.
ОтветитьI would have suspected the return-socket for the number 3 channel, I'm guessing that maybe there's a dirty-contact, or a bad signal cable, or a bad solder-joint associated with the No. 3 channel RTN socket.
ОтветитьQuestion! Where did you get the full manual for this? I've been looking all over. I called Tascam and they don't even remember this console lol. Everywhere I look online, the manual stops at page 64.
ОтветитьHi, I hope you're doing well. Could I get a copy of Pre-Amplifier stage? I need repair my tascam console but I don't have the documentations. Thanks
