A great Fleetwood!
ОтветитьThose cardboard squares under the kick panels are used to hold the clear plastic carpet covers that are put in on the line to protect the carpet for transport. They are usually pulled up during Pre Delivery Inspection. When I worked in "Make Ready" back in the late '80s, we had a checklist that we went through for these inspections. This was one of the checks. Removing plastic protective covers on carpets, seats, door panels etc. before they were placed on the lot for sale, or if the car was ordered and delivered as soon as it arrived at the dealership. Cool find!
ОтветитьOn the difference between the dealer label on the trunk and on the rear view mirror and paperwork...A lot of times, if the dealership didn't have a car color or options that a customer requested, they would "dealer trade" with another dealership. I once owned a car that was purchased at one dealership, but had a screw in dealership tag from another local dealership. Maybe they forgot to change it, or were afraid of damaging the paint in some way removing the other dealership's tag. A lot of times with the quirky metallic paints that GM was using at that time, the adhesive would make those weird discoloration in the paint. GM was definitely having issues with their metallics paints during this era. We had cars that were brand new on the lot that would develop those weird marks in the paint from just sitting. I believe GM actually had recalls on some models, during that time, due to paint complaints.
ОтветитьHello, i want by this Cadillac -85, how i do, live in Swedwv Europe.
ОтветитьWhen you replace the plastic fillers do you go back plastic or fiberglass? What company do you purchase your replacements. I have one starting to crack on my r/r I need to replace.
ОтветитьThis probably the Best Looking Cadillac on Specialty Motors! What a Amazing Colors on this Caddy!
ОтветитьThe color coordination is incredible. My first car was blue with a white top, and blue interior. These are fabulous colors.
ОтветитьSwoon
ОтветитьI got one of these cars too, all original w 42k miles. On yours, it seems like the radios cassette belt is stretched or snapped, stopping the mechanism in the spot it was in when it snapped or stretched. It's common for that age. A new belt can fix it.
It can be opened up and removed. Rendering the radio useful till fixed.
Keep the oil changed, change the coolant every 2 years and add those pellet packs as required and the 4100 is a decent motor. Undersized, yes, but decent if you take care of it.
ОтветитьMafia mob used to drive this
ОтветитьIt's rust proofed by possible by Ziebart
ОтветитьLindo carro um ícone da indústria automobilística Americana 👏👏👏👏
Ответить20 gallon tank 4 bucks a gallon @15 mpg that would just get to old gas in 85 was 79 cents thats 15 to fill compared to 80 today. 300 mile range on 80 bucks the pleasure is not worth the pain an overdrive trans would help on the highway or a ls swap with an od trans were talking 20 city 30 highway. to bad the last time i drove a caddy my fathers 80 4 dr med blue same as this car brougham in my sisters wedding 1982. he sold it and got a 86 town car. he passed in 02 i think the cloud he left on was a all white coupe deville.ha ha . M

ОтветитьRice dealership is still in business in Knoxville TN
ОтветитьI know you like cars, but you like money more. I can sense it from a farmer's mile.
ОтветитьA 4100 V8 engine was the worst engine that Cadillac ever put out that engine got really good gas mileage but let me tell you it didn't have the power to pull a head off your head and it had aluminum heads on it if it got a little bit hot it was done for and this engine just didn't last a car this gorgeous deserves so much better engine in what Cadillac did they should be ashamed of herself
ОтветитьWhat a beauty 😮
ОтветитьWhat was the engine size?
ОтветитьThe car industry has digressed so much even over the last 40 years. These are beautiful cars.
ОтветитьIt was my pleasure building these beautiful vehicles at the Clark and Michigan in Detroit...the inside of the front fenders my also have my initials on them if they are original!💙
ОтветитьThese are some of the most beautiful cars. This was a great time to be doing well in America.
ОтветитьI use to have a 1984 one I miss that car😩
ОтветитьAmazingly gorgeous condition for a 40 year old Caddy.I would be proud to drive this car anywhere. He pointed out everything that would bother some people, but not me,as I would buy this car in a minute and always park it in the garage if you have one as big as this Caddy.
Ответитьbeautiful car , brings back memories, had an 83’ and an 84’ unfortunately the weak spot in this era was the abominable HT4100 the 83’ self destructed when the car was two days old with 107 miles on it…the factory replaced it with a brand new vehicle an 1984 model this too would end with a bang at 46,000 miles..just a shame… im not bashing the car, i loved the car, loved the look , loved the way it drove and rode..just a really nice american classic road car..bye the way if memory serves that color was called "balboa blue"..i loved the color too.
ОтветитьBeautiful car. Is it still available? I live in egan minnesota
Ответить😭😭😭🤣😭❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьOk devoid of any snide remarks about the 4100 but at 18000 dollars if it blows up after sale in a few weeks then what ? The profit margin at 50% seems excessive! 💰
ОтветитьThe pricr
ОтветитьBeautiful car!!!!!
ОтветитьЭра Настоящего Искусства Автомобилестроения ! ( Натуральные материалы и Стеклянные фары !).....
ОтветитьHT4100.....IT IS THE ORIGINAL SO WE LOVE IT ANYWAY..... BEAUTIFUL CAR, REGARDLESS SHE IS IRIGINAL AND SHE STANDS OUT, THE ENGINE IS SECONDARY,
ОтветитьWhat was the point of those filler panels in the first place, why wasn't it just metal like the rest of the piece?
ОтветитьI wish I had kept mine. One of Cadillac's best ever. Makes my Eldo convertible and Allante seem like toys.
Ответить1,000 Miles per year!
ОтветитьIs it for sale
ОтветитьSo gorgeous. I had an 82 just like this except blue soft interior. I had the blue top painted white….. so it looked just like this one.
ОтветитьI was 22 and bought an 87 D'Elegance brand new in Rootbeer Metallic Brown with a Dark brown velour interior. My friends thought I was crazy, but they loved riding in my car more than anybody else's. We were redneck country boys. Partied like rock stars. I even installed a receiver hitch and towed my jet ski to the river with it. Then, in 1991, I traded it for another brand-new, dark metallic grey with a dove grey leather interior. I had every window blacked out and put a roll's style grill on it. It was the most excellent caddy in town. I was a union residential garbage man in those days and made great money. Luckily, I could clean up at work before driving her home. Those were the days.
ОтветитьBeauty
ОтветитьJust can't get over those different colors panels 😢
ОтветитьSorry.. not a good CAR ..
ОтветитьHow much for the caddi
Ответитьman 👨 man man that's all I can say 😮
ОтветитьIs it sold
ОтветитьMy granddad bought one brand new in '83, engine blew up with under 100 mi on odometer while he was breaking it in.
But after Cadillac replaced it, it ran smooth like a champ and never had any issues.
He ended up giving it to a poor family in town that needed a car in 1993 with just over 100K, and they drove it another 10 years.
It was a small town and he ran into the family all the time, they ended up pushing it to 200,000 mi. The only thing that ever broke on it was the air conditioning and they just didn't replace it mainly due to price.
So those engines were hit and miss, somewhere terrible and some lasted forever.
I plan on getting one in the next year, I want one just like my granddad had.
Dark blue with dark blue velvet interior.
I don't know why people are so interested in leather, I live down in the south in Texas where it gets 110 in the summer.
Leather burns your butt when you try to get into it and it's freezing when it's cold outside.
I would much rather have the velor interior.... I just remember being a kid in the '80s on long car rides (because the damn speed limit was 55 everywhere still), I'd take long naps laid out on that back seat... It was almost as comfortable as my bed
