As a stealth player I was constantly cringing, but I know not everyone likes stealthing, I just kept wanting to be like (CROUCH!!! WALK SLOWER!!!) lmao, I know it's annoying to even feel that much about it though.

I think he's right, the alien was bugged. I've done a few playthroughs and I don't think I've ever seen it that active. Or it could be he wasnt trying to be quiet at all most of the time.
