Many thanks, I have been thinking about this drama and up it came. Saw it years ago and it stuck in my mind because it was so good.

Back in the days of VHS, my mum and dad have this show on tape they had labelled "Classics". Never thought I would see this again.

That LWT jingle and I'm back to being a kid again.

I often watch this movie. I am 42 until two years back we were putting a team together to play matches Sunday.
I am sure people have great expectations from their lives, honestly my great hope from life was we friends would continue to play cricket every winter. Growing up I was always the captain, which basically meant I organised everything, was never the best player, very far from it. Every w week we struggled to get a full team together someone partied whole night Saturday and was hung over, someone else was absent only next week we realised he reported to the wrong ground, and with the match ball.
What crazy times. I watch this movie, now almost knowing every dialogue, yet hoping it inspires enough of my old lads to get into shape and get on the ground. Btw the very few instances we were about to win something or the other happened and the match was abandoned.

I love British entertainment, but know nothing of cricket- I enjoyed that aspect very much. So entertaining...Maggie stole the show, what a fantastic actress- she had me laughing out loud. I understand there is a series? Hope to find it- thank you for the video.

This is the epitome of an England gone by. A much better England than we have now. We've been propagandised, pressured and forcibly coerced into accepting drastic changes which have eroded our wonderful culture and sensibilities.
Perhaps that's just how it goes. We might as well forget about the 'Great' and just change to Sh*tain.

A true masterpiece with incredible cast and so utterly clever. It's also a real glimpse into a Britain that doesn't really exist any more and I adored it.

This film perfectly paints a picture of a typical English/Scottish Amateur Cricket Club with the mixture of characters who work supporting the Club & those who only turn up to play. A lovely film, very enjoyable & evocative.
