Many, many people I know that are dyhard Harry Potter fans will not watch the show if Snape ends up black.
Easy as that. This role needs a recast asap, otherwise the whole show ends up in a mess that nobody wants to watch and gets a lot of bad reviews guaranteed.

I think he would make a great Kingsley Shacklebolt, or however you spell his last name? And plus he's a member of the order of the Phoenix and a likeable character.

I have doubts, but if they could somehow get Adam Driver to play Snape, the show would be the biggest success on streaming for years to come. Write it down, take it to the bank.

I'm sure they can find some ugly dude from England that looks like Snape to play the part and they probably can get them for a lot less money

Black Snape should never of happened, try and try again to get the right Snape. Alan himself did not start acting until he was 30 years old. Open the pool and allow the potentials to come out of the woodwork.

Paapa Essiedu would make a better T'Challa. He has a strong, regal berring about himself which would make him perfect for Black Panther.

If this is true then I can see HBO saying that they (HBO) and Essiedu had mutually agreed to part ways, maybe citing something like scheduling difficulties or something along those lines. They aren't just going to come out a say "We f*cked up". I am taking this with a grain of salt though as I've been through so many rumors of Kathleen Kennedy being fired or stepping down at Lucasfilm only for her to get a contract extension that I will believe it when I see it.

Recast Snape and let Paapa Essiedu play Kingsley. It's a win-win. You save the show and save face with the actor, because he still gets a good role later in the series.

I don't think it will help Paapa Essasieadu in the long run. People will continue hating this terrible casting. It will lose HBO hundreds of million dollars, and he won't be cast for another big role afterward. For that reason, I don't think he should have accepted this role in the first place it. Yes, giving him another role would be disrespectful, but this casting is also disrespectful to the paying customers who decide this shows success. In my opinion, they should pay him 50-70% for what he would have earned throughout the show for not playing Snape and offering him the role in the first place. Hbo will lose a lot more money/potential profit if they continue this route. I think this would be better for the studio and him. On top, they probably should cast him for Kingsley, and fans would love it. Remember, never bite the hand that feeds you.

It would make him look a hell of a lot better if he backed down out of respect for the lifelong fans of HP. He KNEW what he was doing when he accepted it though - he KNEW it would cause controversy, so I can’t see him stepping down without being told to.

I put the over/under for this show at 3 years. No way it lasts 10 years.

I feel bad for the actor of snape. But I hope this is true and the actor of snape will have more opportunities in the future with bigger roles and stuff like that.
