Hello Marie-Anne!
This video is so helpful! Thank you!
I must say I love military coats so I wear them tailored and they work on me.
As a petite woman I avoid chunky shoes and large prints.
I don’t know if you know her channel , but I think Audrey Coyne is the perfect example for this video.
Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo ✨
Thanks for your videos. I like them very much. Okey, I understand that a smaller bag is visually prettier for a petite women, but the petites have got the same amount and size stuff as a tall lady. What an impossible challenge to save this problem. 🙂 (Maybe we should carry 2-3 small bags together.)
Ответить"...a petite woman could hide in it..." referring to a large large tote bag. Luvvit! Sound advice again. I am petite myself. Thank you!
ОтветитьI'm in search of a single breasted trench coat, that is above the knee. Very hard to find.
ОтветитьI like your new hair color and your green on green!
ОтветитьThank you for thinking of your petite ladies. Most people who are not petite don't realize that it is also about proportion not just shorter. I know my shape and how to dress but it is very difficult finding cute petite classic fashions. It's difficult finding classic fashions where I live. I shop Talbots, however through the years their styles have gotten much more casual. Many of the skirts and dresses are very short. When I was growing up Boleros and empire waist dresses were very flattering for me.
ОтветитьGreat video Marie-Anne! I'm an hourglass petite. This video is very helpful!
ОтветитьAppreciate the resources Marie-Anne as very few retailors understand or find the need to address the petite, and when they do, they design for the gamine and not an hourglass! I do find myself sizing up and having things tailored, however nice it is to do so, it can get expensive.
ОтветитьMerci pour cette vidéo. I am 5’3”/160cm and have wide shoulders, small waist, curvy hips, and an inseam of approximately 29in/73cm. It is tricky to dress my body type. I look terrible in wide-leg pants and shoulder pads. I can’t give up thick coats because it is cold in the winter where I live as well as big handbags because I tend to carry a lot. I suggest doing a video on the right heel height and style for your height, body type, and foot type. For example, which heel height would be ideal for petites as well as for taller people.
ОтветитьThank you! And I love that green jacket on you! Also, not only am I a petite, but I am a short-waisted petite! I would love it if you could do a video for short torso ladies.
ОтветитьHello Marie-Anne. Thank you for the great advice. The retailers think all petite women are thin. I find it difficult to find styles for my apple shape. I don’t wear leggings or skinny jeans so I tend to wear straight leg pants. Also, in the stores in the USA they offer “granny “ styles in the petite sizes. I am a granny just don’t want to look like one. What is the best length for pants and dresses for the mature petite woman. Thank you.
ОтветитьI am short...and you are correct on all counts - Merci!
ОтветитьI am 5'3" and I have lived in denial and bought more regular missy sizes than petites without going to the tailor. I prefer column dressing, but frequently I wear black or navy skirts with various coloured sweaters or shirts. On occasion, I will wear a larger necklace, but I will not add earrings, rings, or bracelets. I will do one larger piece only. If it is earrings, then everything else is small. All of my belts are smaller, except one. Now I know why it does not look right on me. I have always favored the clutch and smaller bags because I do not carry much. But lately, I have bought larger bags to accommodate a tablet and journal. So I think I must revisit pointers for shorter people.
ОтветитьMay I add one more rule?
#4: The tailor is your best friend ❤️
I have the similar problems but I am disproportionate. Although, I’m 5’5 I also wear a 29” inseam because I have shorter legs and a longer torso. I often shop petite. Finding pants that look right is a task and, because I have a longer torso, tops that fit often risk showing my belly. I always need separates.
ОтветитьMerci beaucoup! 🙏🏻 Tres bien! Je suis petite 😆 Please forgive my attempt to “share” my French with you and our community 💝 I am a short, hourglass (as I continue to recover) and was in great need of this video! You both confirmed and advised; I am very grateful 😇 As you may recall, with all your viewers who reside all over the world 🌎 you know how big your boots are to fill AND what a large fan club / admiration you inspire 💕💖🤗
ОтветитьThe most frustrating is finding blazers . I love to wear them , right now it’s all about over sized and longer blazers . I’m also pear shaped , most blazers end on my thighs ! My widest part .
No where near enough companies making petite ranges . In Australia virtually no companies do . I often buy from younger fashion stores xx
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😍😍🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
ОтветитьPetite and a bit of apple, thanks
ОтветитьAnd avoid those big sneakers that make you look like you have giant feet!
I would love to wear those long winter coats, but I keep my coats above the knees or I disappear in them.
Thank you. Thank you for thinking about us petites. Do empire waists work on elongating? I also see high waisted vintage trousers that elongate the leg line.
ОтветитьI know it is not good to brag, but I thought I would brag anyway about the fact that I was FINALLY able to wear my wool Christian Dior scarf, because it was finally cold enough today in Phoenix to wear it! That is all.
ОтветитьI am borderline petite at 5’4” with an inverted triangle and short waist shape. I avoid large prints, long, coat-like cardigans, tunics, and wide legged trousers. Great video with sound advice! Merci
ОтветитьThis was helpful. Portion is important. I heard the term strawberry shape. I am not a triangle I am not an apple but strawberry. Broad shoulder and a belly 😔 . And to add to that I am very short waisted. Have you ever addressed the short-wasted woman? Long arms and legs are my benefit
ОтветитьThank you for this helpful video!
ОтветитьMerci , Marie-Anne. Very petite woman here at 4'6" and I find it quite difficult to find clothes that do not swamp me. I would describe myself as an apple as the most of the extra weight I am carrying is on my abdomen. I found this sooo helpful.
ОтветитьThanks a lot Marie-Anne For the tips. I think also having a huge long hair also overwhelm a petit woman am I right???
ОтветитьWie immer wunderbar ☺️
ОтветитьThank you Marie-Anne! At times, being a petite can be limiting but I can say I feel uncomfortable in certain things, like extra large jewellery and small prints. I appreciate all the resources and videos to watch here. Merci!
ОтветитьTo me i am petite and an hour glass , and Wear straight jeans, or good quality black jeggings love them in winter they keep me warm with longer jumpers and boots i think this look is great for me keeps it all nice and stream line . Ciao ❤️
Ответить🕊🇺🇲💕
ОтветитьMerci for the awesome resource.
Ответить🎄So glad you shared this video for your petite friends. 🎄
ОтветитьI'm a 5,3 rectangle. I always struggle with belts. I avoid double breasted coats or blazers. They make you look wider and shorter. Monochromatic is my way of dressing and people are surprised that I'm under 5,6. All an illusion.
Ответить5 foot and loving being petite. Great advice. Also, I find that many manufacturers make shirt and jacket sleeves too long even in petite sizing. Why??? I finally started making jackets and blouses for myself, as on me the clean simple lines look best. I also have a short torso and can design the shape to fit properly. Another thing I avoid is collars on tops and scarves around my neck, as my neck is in proportion but disappears under all that fabric. Thanks for the great video.
ОтветитьMarie- Anne, I've always wondered how tall you are....I would say you are about 175cm tall
ОтветитьMiss Marie-Anne I'm love to hear it's about your rules sweetheart great advice and resource too the green jacket is pretty awesome teacher god bless l love you sexy woman muah ♡♡
ОтветитьI am 5ft 2ins and have to be careful not to wear too many oversized clothes. I know I would look ridiculous. I love watching your videos, thank you so much for uploading 🌝x
ОтветитьMarie-Anne, while I am tall, I still enjoyed these tips because they are all about the importance of proportion. And your lighting is fabulous here!
ОтветитьThank you very much for all the lovely info.
ОтветитьThank you Marie Anne for another great video. Thank you so much for the advice and resource list which features brands I wasn't aware catered for the Petite frame. Terribly generous of you and much appreciated. I would be interested in learning more xx
ОтветитьHow about a video for tall big girls ? Please……..
ОтветитьAt 5'1 and inverted triangle, the struggle is real.
ОтветитьHello Marie-Anne! I’d love to see a video about what to wear as a quite tall person but with a very petite body frame. I have thin bones and I’ve always had trouble gaining any weight. I sometimes feel like both dressing skin-tight or a bit more loose fit just seems to accent my thinness. I have a long torso and a small bust. Button-up shirts, shirts with a low neckline and low-waisted pants are a definite no for my body
ОтветитьLove your green outfit. Beautiful
ОтветитьI am 5'7 but have a small frame. Clothing can still overwhelm me.
ОтветитьHere's a little story from me, a petite woman. I'm 5'2" and have a small bone structure. In the early to mid 70s, When I was in my early 20s, I shopped at a local higher end store, which was very elegant. I had my own sales lady, who was excellent at dressing me in just the right styles. Every Spring and Autumn I would go in to buy clothes for the season and would only have to add a few items here and there during the season. I looked like a million bucks. Then -- one Autumn, I went in to my favorite store and asked for Mary. The young sales lady told me Mary wasn't there. Needless to say, I was disappointed. But, the young woman told me she could help me. Well, it was the year of layering -- and I mean layering. She dressed me in so many layers that I stood in front of the 3-way mirror feeling bewildered. I looked and felt like a little kid in a snowsuit. Just then, Mary walked in and hurried over to me, saying "You can't dress her like this." She'd only been on a break. Well, she started peeling layers off me and pulling out different garments for me to try on. It was Mary to the rescue. Boy, was I relieved and, as usual, went away happy for the whole season. The End.
