JERRY BYRD made it no secret that he long admired the steel guitar playing of his idol Dick McIntire. If one listens closely to both players, one might be able to detect the McIntire style in some of Jerry's playing? Their melodies were soft and unhurried and a pure joy to listen to. Most of their melody playing was done on the top four strings. Both made beautiful music milking their sounds from the guitar alone and not thro' electronic gadgets and/or studio magic.
ОтветитьDick McIntire was a terrific steel guitarist I never liked Jerry’s playing.
