Details matter!
If on a first floor, Just don’t forget to air seal the penetrations. Here in WA State., we are required to get our ACH below 3, and our company is always below a 1.

Good info Rob! This is my favorite method too. A spot it doesn't always work is at the tops of stairs when you have a double LVL header. In that case, a steel deck post fastended with lags or simpson strong ties works awesome. Lowes has the Deckorators 4x4 post for $55. Great to keep in the back pocket if you ever run into it.
