Don’t we all remember it happening to 3 runners, and they came back and became bob sledders? Ya mon
Ответитьto all that are bashing A. Mu, chill. she had a lapse in judgement in a pivotal race. she's human. don't be so self righteous. as if none of you have made a critical mistake in the moment. she will be back with a vengeance. good luck to our 800m team. salud🥂
ОтветитьDid that guy really ask if she realized it was Athing? Who else on the line looks like Athing? We get it dude, you don't see race🙄🙄🙄
ОтветитьSage focus on your next race. Hope you do well
ОтветитьBetter to fall now than to fall at the Olympics. Looks like she cut over into another runner.
ОтветитьTo all the haqaters out there, I don’t see any medals for the USA women in the 800M race unless they all run lifetime bests which they already have. Mu is stll recovering from injuries and mental counseling. She was running in order to try to save something for the final lap by running in the pack which I thought was a mistake because of her long legs. She was tripped on both sides as I saw the race. I would have tried to stay to the outside instead of being in the middle of the pack, but that is from my years of experience with track as a sprinter/quarter miler and relay runner.
ОтветитьSage is beautiful and her feelings in this instance are totally understandable.
ОтветитьShe was clipped from behind by an old ass competitor who had no chance to win the race.
ОтветитьShe’s the best 800 runner ever She should be automatically inn
ОтветитьI don't know what she is so upset about. I have never seen her finish in the top 5 in any race. I don't even remember ever hearing her name at all and I watch every track meet that is on TV. Never even heard of this woman.
ОтветитьThe 800 is unique as it is the highest speed race run without lanes. It’s sad that this happened but that’s the risk you take by being in the middle of the pack. I sympathize with Sage’s reaction as she didn’t make the mistake but paid the same price.
ОтветитьAthing didn't fall, she was pushed.
ОтветитьThats the 800m. Part of the 800 is navigating bodies and getting out of the heavy traffic and protecting yourself. You don't run it laned-its a tactical race. Elbows, flat tires, falls. Its been like this forever
ОтветитьThat was so heart breaking 💔 for Athing Mu 😭
Ответитьoh well.......was this woman favored or something???
ОтветитьAthing Mu's race tactics remind me of Brenda Martinez. Brenda was always playing in crowds and stumbling over stuff in races.
That's just bad Juju and it tempts Fate and Nemesis.
Every right to feel "pissed". Mu's error cost her any chance and may have prevented several athletes from doing their best.

Totally a learning experience for Mu, long strides in a crowd can be disaster
ОтветитьWhat the heck is wrong with these comments!! All of a sudden , we have a panel of athletic experts here-NOT.
Blaming an Olympic champion in MU, like she never ran in her life is beyond pathetic. Just Say something Good or Just Don’t say anything!
Some of these comments 🤮
ОтветитьThese names sound like an episode of Star Trek.
ОтветитьThere goes the USA chance of gold in the 800
ОтветитьDon’t feel sorry for Mu, the coaches will pick her for the mixed 4x4, and the ladies 4x4!
Feel sorry for others like Raevyn and Sage, who won’t be going to Paris! 🥹😭
I really feel bad for Mu, she's great, but things like this happen in track all the time, it's part of the sport, its part of the game and excitement. My coach always says that anything can happen during a race; and that obviously showed it's self on Monday! It really sucks, especially at such a high level, but I am extremely happy about the 3 lady's who made it, they are 3 very deserving lady's and we're so incredibly happy to get that Olympic spot!
ОтветитьAthing needs better training. It's not always about who can run faster. Sometimes, it's about the strategy more about then the endurance. A chess match.
ОтветитьMu is known for having a very long kick back. She should know better than to try to cut into a crowded field and then slowing down that way. The fall is on her. The problem is that then she hurts others like Sage. I am the competition I stay ahead or far to the side of Athing at the start . How many times does one have to fall or get clipped before learning to stay apart or change your stride when in crowds
ОтветитьShe's a champion but after pass incidents, her team should of had a smarter strategy. Either to thack out of trouble or out front. Never in the middle of the pack.. seems like they weren't confident in her abilities.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how Athing is doing? Poor girl. It broke my heart and was upset no one comforted her. 😢 Hope she’s okay as she is phenomenal!
ОтветитьRegardless of the fall you weren’t going to place. You were so far behind the front runners. The time you lost from the fall wouldn’t have made any difference.
ОтветитьI wish that those who comment would look at what ACTUALLY happened betwen 26.5 and 27.3 of the race. ATHING did NOT cut in front of anyone. She looked left to avoid contact. Her left foot in her back-kick caught RAEVYN ROGER'S right-leg. ATHING in effect suffered an inadvertent trip from behind her. YES, she should avoid running in the middle of a pack. YES, SAGE HURTA-KLECKER also lost her likely place on the Olympic team due to this trip-and-fall by losing 15 meters and having to run a 56 first-lap. Let us hope for great years from these two who missed their place in the Olympics!
Ответить800 meters is now more like a sprint. This can be solved by keeping lanes in place at least for the first 400m.
ОтветитьFalls happen in a tight pack. I do think the USA needs to rethink and slightly modify the process to get on the Olympic Team. If you are a defending World Champion or Olympic Champion, you should get an automatic place on the team. Keely Hodgkinson from Great Britain will most likely win the gold in Paris now for the 800m, but I believe she would like to win that medal by beating her rival Athing Mu on the track in lieu of Athing not being in the race due to a fall. In the pole vault, KC Lightfoot didn't make the jump to finish in the top 3 even though he is ranked 6th in the world. Is it any wonder why Armand Duplantis pole vaults for Sweden even though he is American as American can be.
ОтветитьShe laughed when asked about if she knew it was Athing
Ответитьany other country would give their best athlete a chance to make the Olympics. Athing Mu is the USA only hope in the 800 meters. She could fall 10 times, she is going.
ОтветитьBased on the gold medalist in Tokyo, last Olympics gold and silver ran 155 and the bronze ran a 156. Neither of the three US runners have ever gotten below 157. I'm expecting us not to meddle in the 800 now. This sucks.
ОтветитьI feel so bad for Athing Mu. 💔 When you're tightly packed like that falls will happen as a runner I've seen it many times. She'll be back with a vengeance in four years. 💪🏾🏃🏽♀️💨
ОтветитьI think when a runner is tripped(not falls because of themselves or fakes a trip...goes to judges) they should get to run a new race on that day if they weren't hurt.
If later that day they run their "time trial" by themselves and land in the top 3 times then they _still go_ to the Olympics.
This is just a CATASTROPHIC thing having to wait 4 more years because somebody tripped you.
Athing get duo citizenship start running for sudan ,i dont think thet have any 800m runners
ОтветитьYes , always avoid getting boxed. It was a, fast 1 st lap
Ответитьi'd be pissed too. Reasonable reaction.
ОтветитьThis whole US Trials system needs to be modified so that athletes that fall in races are allowed to do a time trial afterwards and if they can either, 1) beat the best time at the trials or 2) get one of the 3 best times in the world for the season (after all the countries have completed their national Olympic trials), then they should be allowed on the team and knock out the slowest US Olympic team qualifier from the trials. It's basic common sense, if the US actually wants to put their best foot forward and have the very best representing them at the Olympics instead of just sending someone else who qualified to go on a fluke. Ridiculous!
ОтветитьI love Mu but she dont seem to be focused on track...
ОтветитьDave Wottle stayed in the back. Then shifted gears on the last stretch, passed everyone on the OUTSIDE, and won his 800 m race. He stayed out of trouble. Mu should have done the same with all of her experience. Now we have been denied who is the real winner. 😢The price of ego and greed.
ОтветитьI wish USA Track & Field would adopt a policy similar to gymnastics where they can still decide to pick someone they know is better but for some reason didn’t finish high enough. Mu was the only American that had a shot to medal. It sucks but some comments are right, she should’ve done a better job navigating traffic.
ОтветитьMu will be on the 4x400 relay.
ОтветитьShe’s pissed? How does she thing Mu feels? Mu had a lot more to lose than this runner. She was set to defend her Olympic title. This was a devastating race to watch. My heart is broken for Mu.
ОтветитьGreat to see the main two points of this interview
