I think you’re making the right decision for a second opinion. I did this years ago with my cat Suzie and the second one had her back to normal really quick after I spent a ton of money at the first vet.

Vet bills and medicine are outrageous here in Arkansas. As for pet food I can't believe how expensive it has gotten. My heart goes out to you and your fur babies.

I still think giving him different foods willy-nilly isn't good. I'm surprise that your vet didn't give you prescription food for him. That's the first thing my vet always does. Plus taking him to another is a good idea

Tina, we are all dealing with incredibly expensive vet bills. With my two seniors, I have spent over $4000 for blood tests, ultrasounds, medications and medicated food in the last 4 weeks! Fortunately they are recovering although now I am dealing with the "I don't want to eat this food look" and I just can't go out and get a can of friskies, would love too and I know they would eat it in a heartbeat but I know their medical conditions now and it's serious and I can't give them just anything because they will get really sick again. It's a vicious cycle, I have a serious case of vet fatigue and both my vets are probably tired of us as well, they don't want to see my furs sick either. So it's a sticky slope, very. One of things that has helped me is that I found Merricks no grain limited ingredients in Turkey and now they are eating!!! It's the closest to the medicated food, also I disguise the medicated food with a Churro and my one senior is eating so much better because she ❤❤❤❤Churros so I have to resort to these "tricks" to get them to eat. And I leave them alone so I can rest because they need me and I need to rest to function and keep playing tricks on them😂😂😂so they'll eat. It's a process, very small baby steps and you will get there. Sending you Big hugs 🤗🤗🤗 and ❤❤❤to the fur loves!

Have you ever thought about a homöopatic practitioner for pets? (Google gave me this translation for "Heilpraktikter", but I donnot know whether this is correct).

I contacted one wie my cats had Giardia a few years ago, because I did not want to treat them with the medicin the vet gave me. He could help us.
