I have a hair license even though I haven't used it in years. Invest in some professional haircutting shears if you can. That will make the trimming easier. I think that you did a good job and that no one will be able to tell that you cut your hair yourself. Maybe grow your bangs out a little longer to blend into the sides more in a curved way, instead of straight across. You are always pretty with any hair length.
