You could just enable ErP in the BIOS to turn off usb ports power while the PC is off
Ответить❤😮
ОтветитьReally pretty system! I wonder if the Wii shell can be stood up aswell with these components inside :D I always had my Wii like that. Def. something for me to look into
ОтветитьHow about ps3 fat version into a sleeper pc? I'm sure that would be a good challenge 😊
ОтветитьIs this a repost? I could have sworn I saw this project done by a fella like you last year or so
I also reckon I might be online wayyyyy tooo much morty
Interesting! I'm wondering if you could have put a NES, SNES, and/or N64 controller port instead
ОтветитьAh yes, the PiiCii
I seriously love these kind of videos, great job with another build!
Looking forward to what else you come up with!
Say goodnight 🫡
ОтветитьI would love to see your innovations and your passion for this field. Great video, honestly.🤩
ОтветитьJust a quick note, because the Wii has been modded there's actually quite a large chance that the disc drive is still fully functional, just the modder messed up the system. Back in the day I actually did this once, but it can be easily fixed. Otherwise I love this video, I kinda want to try something like it.
ОтветитьNext do an Xbox One S as i have one that doesnt work
ОтветитьAdd m.2 nvme slot memory cards lol
ОтветитьThe Division 1 and division 2 PC
ОтветитьPs2 Need For Speed Hot Persuit 2 and Nfs Underground 1 and 2 + NFS Most wanted (2005) (PC) Or PS2 Version if Pc has issues
ОтветитьCarful man Nintendo may come after you for emulation there IP
ОтветитьJust use a steam deck motherboard lol
ОтветитьI get the making it work with whatever case you want to mod but when you have a 3D printer, why not print a case with everything needed and still be the same size? I'm surprised there aren't files out there that make old gaming systems become PC cases.
Ответитьholy screen tearing, but given everything thats pretty cool
ОтветитьYour getting a sub cause your brave lol
ОтветитьThat is an amazing build.
Ответитьthat is really cool, i'd honestly use that instead of my 10- year old desktop
ОтветитьWhat the purpose of the USB hub, it does not have front facing cutout?
ОтветитьI'd try to find some gamecube (or possibly smaller) fans, and install them as an intake along the inside of the disc drive slot. that should improve temps. two oughta do it, maybe 3, if you wanna be sure. id also get velcro strips, and attach them to the usb hub, and inside the case, so its removable but secure.
ОтветитьHey, for the issue that the usb still get power when pc is off: Many BIOS / UEFI have settings turning this on and off. Not all PCs have that, but it is worth taking a look. Good luck I hope the video stays up with the emulation in it.
ОтветитьGo into you bios settings and kill power to usb ports when off will resolve your led issue
Ответитьsuper impressive build here, so cool to see all the thought and prep that goes into a project like this!
ОтветитьGreat build! Playing this at 720p on a CRT would give this such an authentic feel to it (plus boost the performance by a decent amount).
As far as the front LED is concerned, you can buy a Corsair Node and connect right to one of the LED headers. It will only work when powered up, and will even allow you to set independent LED modes for boot up and running states (so you could replace the static green LED with an addressable one and have fun setting up profiles and whatnot). The node only needs a single SATA power connector and should be reasonably-easy to supply power to (plus it's compact and gives you easy and convenient software control via Corsair iCue). That would also give you the opportunity to use the second LED channel to illuminate the disc tray so it can glow just like the original :)
Power switch isn't usb. This means you can change setting in bios to not power usb when off. Thay would fix your led issue
ОтветитьHi Matt, long time listener, first time caller
Do you know which Fusion360 Tutorials you watched for this project? I also want to get into modeling myself and given your results id say they paid off
Great video as always!
i need one like now
ОтветитьDo you need the USB ports to be powered while the computer is off? Might be able to disable power while off in BIOS.
ОтветитьHopefully that motherboard got sold or put into another shell or is used for an Ashida build. I would love to see a Wii PC build in a clear shell with RGB lighting. It would look so much cooler.
Ответитьdrill holes in the shell right above the fan to improve cooling
Ответитьtest a wiiU game on a pc in a wii with an xbox controller xD, nice
ОтветитьI want to see what's possible using a steamdeck motherboard
ОтветитьI imagine that your issue with the LED was due to using the same ground as your power button. Typically LEDs are switched on the low side, meaning that voltage is always present on one pin, while ground is connected/disconnected to control it. Adding a fourth connection to the original pin for the LED would fix it in that case
ОтветитьNow, do what the title says; make a gaming pc out of a Wii. I just see a gaming pc in a Wii shell. Great reuse of electronics though, but I guess I read the title too literally and a little disappointed. ;) question, I was going to consider getting one of these mini pcs, does this one play Xenia, XBox 360 games well enough? I'm really only interested in playing Fable II lately. I have a handful of 360 games, but no console and having a hard time finding a working one with what little funds I have.
ОтветитьDude be careful with your channel nintendo hates it's fans
ОтветитьI didn't catch which material you said you used for the rear IO shield, however I've had PLA rear IO shields melt on me when using a ventilated infill pattern so PETG worth considering for future builds if you're not already using it. Same goes for motherboard trays.
I'm not 100% sure if this is because of how little material mine has and how exposed the entire surface area is, or if it's because it's in my smaller-than-a-velka-3 brickless 4060ti 16gb build which is obviously pretty toasty, but it's worth considering
you can shut off usb power in bios.
ОтветитьWell, I can say also I was here before Nintendo sees his video.
ОтветитьHe did not turn the Wii into a gaming pc he just removed it from it's case and put a modern x86 "gaming" computer in it.
ОтветитьIf you had a wii remote, you could easily extract all the NAND data of that hacked wii into a file as a backup. Make sure you do that before altering anything on that motherboard while it still powers on! Nand backups are easily restorable and let you use the same system menu in dolphin!
ОтветитьI'm not usually into sleepers because I really love small computers, but this somehow does both, and I love it. I need it. Man I cant wait to be able to update my living room PC to something a bit more performant.
ОтветитьNice!
ОтветитьI love this build, tbh I would be proud having this sit by the TV.
Ответитьbro found out how to play switch games on a wii
ОтветитьNice. BTW, check the bios for the power on the board when shut off. :)
