You WILL ruin them WAAAAY worse especially if you have blue layer and AR coats on them.

Toothpaste will strip the coating off, so if there are scratches or spots missing in the coating layer, you can strip the whole lens to try and improve the overall look. (This rarely works to improve vision, and im just guessing this is what the video is showing) However, a scratch in the lens material will not be filled in magically by toothpaste. They can not be buffed because this will alter the curvature of the lens, thus ruining the prescription.

Toothpaste is only if there deep scratches , it only leaves small scratches , baking soda is worse , look for a buffer wheel , don't keep scratching them , it takes hours by hand with micro cloth , good luck and let me know what does better.
