hi guys ive just started learning how to play guitar and im struggling when playing chords to miss out strings eg the two strings on the d chord. any suggestions on how to get better at not strumming them or is it just purely practise?

But what are some possible songs you can play knowing these chords?

Someone taught me a cool trick a while back. Drop the whole tuning down a half step and capo the 1st feet. Puts a little slack in the strings to make bends and pull offs cleaner 👍

With the Em Chord, if you add one more finger on the same Fret you get an A chord! LOL My favorite chords, including the A Chord! The First ones I learned when learning how to play guitar.

Another popular chord progression is G D C. You now know Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Another is just G C. That would be the verses of Poison's Every Rose Has Its Thorn and Skid Row's I Remember You (The chorus to I Remember You is G D E C). These are just a few I thought of off the top of my head. There are tons of songs that use easy chord progressions like these.
