This guy should write a book! I'd read it over and over and over.
ОтветитьI find it amusing that the person who utters the words expat and whose favourite thing to tell people about berlin, is the americans he met there, is of course also a strong advocate for israel. Its mesmerizing to see how this man with all his know-how and artistry cannot exercise enough critical thought on the world around him and himself, to realize what kind self-righteous ideology he propagates. But what can one expect from someone living in california after all.
Ответить“Find that man!”
ОтветитьThis is why I never developed the "confidence" to let my kids play hide and seek at any park - my FEAR - was exactly this. I had no Desire to play hide and seek.
Ответитьnice smiths reference
ОтветитьAn overlooked detail: a six year old at a waterpark could be wearing a life jacket. But it's not a lake. There's people everywhere. You can introduce a little risk to carve out that initial comfort zone that starts scary, but eventually acts as a well for future confidence. Great video as always!
ОтветитьVan Neistat: Foolishness: I have a confession to make.
Foo Fighters: I have another confession to make: I'm a fool.
That was a shite hockey stop😂
ОтветитьI am 56 and have met 2 other tru Morrissey fans (early 90’s)
The early 90’s were gold.
Hey Van, how did you do the hand-written text animations??? I've been wanting to do that for a while in Final Cut Pro, which I think you still use (?)
Ответитьplease stop taking Better Help sponsorships
ОтветитьI bet van heard his wife bitching in his ear for the next week Don't You Ever Lose My Boy again
ОтветитьI'm glad I learned how to ice skate as a kid or else I probably wouldn't be able to do it
ОтветитьX: "Ill only go to the waterpark with Dad from now on if he can prove he already has an idea for his next 5 videos"
ОтветитьI feel very confident that I can straighten your glasses out
ОтветитьLoved this video Van, well done !
ОтветитьWe assume you found your boy?!
ОтветитьYou lost your boy and during that terrible time you record yourself? We have lost our mind…
ОтветитьThe hockey stop might be easier for the players because they are also holding the hockey stick and you can use that as a crutch
ОтветитьBest explanation I've ever heard about fear and confidence
Ответить👌👍
Ответитьhello sir , im from cambodia . your big fan <3 my son is 3 year old today
Ответить'punk rock arrogance'! thats an excellent way of describing it! it's not arrogance, it's cited in something bigger than just little old you.
ОтветитьEl Paso!
ОтветитьSo Van’s pro Israel?..
ОтветитьOmg, he's 6 now!? How time flies!
ОтветитьGood video. Favorite part was the joy in the older lady figure skaters eyes.
ОтветитьBeautiful video
ОтветитьYour storytelling never ceases to amaze me. Always interestig and visually rich.
ОтветитьI hope he never ever stop making videos...they are some of the best content on You Tube
ОтветитьIt blows my mind that Van feels the need to mention Israel while they perpetrate genocide, why?
ОтветитьMaybe my favorite video if for nothing else the smiths reference.
ОтветитьThis incoherent meditation on confidence feels like a thin mask for the fear and shame caused by messing up big time in the role of protector of beloved son filtered through a wierd need never to be seen as weak and transformed into a puffed up lesson in which Van is once again able to feel like 'the master'. Interesting that this ends with a seemingly apropos of nothing declaration for far-right aligned Morrisey and genocide perpetrating Israel... Much of Vans content is inspiiring. This is fragile and disapointing.
ОтветитьYou stepped up your game, dear Sir.
ОтветитьIngredient 4b - you can only learn how to hockey stop in Canada. 4c - calling it a hockey stop is funny.
ОтветитьAmazing! Almost everything you said in this video is DEAD WRONG! That's a remarkable bit of consistency. Nearly ALWAYS wrong! No confidence that is meaningful in any way will come from this rum-dum wordy-word-wording. You can not build a working model of a car engine from bananas. Nor from cats. And you don't build confidence from this nonsense. I'll stop criticizing and offer an alternative: The ONLY way to build confidence that is solid to the bone is by REPEATED VICTORY EXPERIENCES. You must win at little things then graduate stepwise to bigger things. The REASON for your confidence comes from the PROOF that it is warranted by each win. Why should anyone be confident in their abilities if they have done nothing but come up short for themselves? There's nothing to build it on. Big-time confidence is built from small-time wins. You can never believe in yourself until you COME THROUGH for yourself. Start small. Take a small win. Try something a tiny bit harder. Keep at it until you win. Take another step. Etc. There is no confidence in unsupported bravado. You can't claim confidence. You must earn it. It is earned by coming through. You can trust it. Why? Because you KNOW it's really there. Everything else is just talk.
ОтветитьSo refreshing! to be able to mention Morrisey and Israel without having to excuse yourself.
ОтветитьJoe’s instructions for confidence
1) try something hard
2) maybe succeed
3) probably fail
4) ask for help or figure it out yourself but at all costs try
5) learn something and ultimately succeed
6) repeat knowing that trying will lead to something good
7) understand that success has many flavors
8) help other people to do #1
You’ve got this
Just a recap, we found the boy right? PS, this whole video was pure art.
Ответитьgreat stuff as always
Ответить❤
Ответитьyou don't loose your 6yo period. lost all respect
ОтветитьWhen I was 6 I got lost in the largest water park in America (at the time).
Very very formative experience. I did panic a bit but only a bit. Eventually I thought it out and figured out a plan and it worked. It was practice…and it gave me a touch of punk rock attitude.
I’m 47 and lack fundamental existential confidence. I just don’t feel like the world needs anything I have to offer. I’m 6 months sober and it’s getting better. Stay tuned I guess.
ОтветитьI liked your videos but the fact that you started filming while you searched your lost son in a waterpark is a red flag like I never seen it before on YT.
ОтветитьPero lo encontró?
Ответитьbetter help is shit please do not use it. I like Van but I cannot not be slightly dissaopinted.
Ответитьyou seem to be a genuine person...can I ask you why do you use beautify filters on this recordings? the one from the pool shows the real you... I m curious of your response
