ОтветитьIm pretty sure that datapacks and commands are one of the biggest feats that represent the creativity of Minecraft. I feel so upset when someone excludes them when talking about Minecraft's versatility.
ОтветитьNow I only need data-driven blocks and I'm happy. Especially for slabs, walls, fences, snow layers, etc. the amount of things you can "misuse" as something else is just not enough.

I think we could now just don't have mod anymore we can just use data pack for additional content and it's easier to work with than mod

Ответитьi think the datapacks are actually mirrors of the behaviour packs from bedrock, meaning that java mod loaders might be replaced one day

The amount of technical changes that will allow creators to go absolutely nuts is unbelievable and gives us all even more creative freedom then ever possibly imagined. I can't even physically process how much I can do with these new additions

ОтветитьI reallly want some custom data items now we're so close. (like you can say @mw:baked_pumpkin in a recipe and the game knows that the baked_pumpkin item is a baked potato with a custom model and name) Like make an alias for a regular item with extra data for use in recipies and loot tables so you don't have to re-enter all of it's sources whenever you tweak an item's data
OH and the item data is like a json file or something

This is absolutely insane. The biggest datapack changes since the addition of custom worldgen.
Really wish we can get custom crafts using data instead of items at some point. For example ability craft X only if item Y has / doesn't have tag Z.

Ответитьwait so im a little confused about the item_model component. Is it just the same as custom_model_data or can I combine both Item_model and custom_model_data to have a custom item icon with a 3D item in hand (like the spyglass or trident)
