In the presence of Enemies PT 1.
Petrucci’s single note phrases sound massive, yet personal.
Perfect example of how delay can be used to add dimension and complexity to single note phrases
Read the manual to the original Line 6 DL4 .. breaks down all the old vintage delay types with pictures

ОтветитьI am amazed at how black that shirt is. Every black shirt I own fades so quickly.
ОтветитьPlease make a video like this for Reverb
Ответитьhi, just wanted to say thanks for making this video, i'm not a musician, nor did i know what a delay pedal is, but am sleeping much better now, thanks.
ОтветитьApache by The Shadows brought me here
ОтветитьIs It? by Ben Howard has some of my favorite uses of delay of all time. Each song on the record has such a cohesive sound, I think in large part because of the delays. That album is actually the reason I'm looking for a new delay pedal and watching this video! Check it outtttt
ОтветитьI think the moment where delay as an effect got lodged in my mind as incredible was Brighton Rock by Queen theres this massive solo were for the most part its just Brian's guitar on its own and this massive hard panned delay and the solo is orchestrated in a way were the repeats "catch up" with the main guitar and they clash together before the main riff of the song and its amazing
ОтветитьI want lots of delay with no repeats! That’s what I do on the Katana time to the lowest setting and Delay all the way up! Mike Campbell From the Heartbreakers uses the Blue MM4 Line 6 pedal live for Trem, Leslie, Flange and Chorus! I like your channel but I think most of us just want a Delay that makes our solos sound better not a Trem!
ОтветитьFludder sucks ass. Sounds out of tune.
ОтветитьBest Delay; Solo on Comfortably Numb [Album: Pulse] by Pink Floyd, toss up… Best Reverb/Delay; Wicked Game by Chris Isaak.
ОтветитьSouvlaki Space Station!
ОтветитьSorry not sorry, there is no mention of the Space Echo, so the video is moot.
ОтветитьJosh don't need acid. He's already a trip.
ОтветитьI've owned the Boss waza craft DM-2, DD-7, the MXR carbon copy, the line 6 DL4 and a Cusack delay. I've never loved any of them, although I did really like the tone and modulation of the carbon copy. I bought the Boss RE-2 space echo when it was first released and fell in love with it immediately. Tape echos man. I highly recommend the space echo, it excels as a slap back, it has beautiful rhythmic delay settings, you can use the feedback control to create neverending repeats that have a warmth and clarity. Check it out!

Ответитьthanks man, great history lesson as always embedded in a wealth of over all knowledge! For my money, delay pedals are by far the single most inspirational pedal. Whenever I seem to be at a creative standstill, i just put on my Boss Giga Delay, or Memory Man or Carbon Copy, even the ole SPX -90 which never seems to get much love, and within a short period of time, i usually touch upon something which brings forth a cool new direction. Funny how those repeating echoes which end up as a rhythmic accompaniment quite often, end up being the thing i need.
ОтветитьThis has truly boggled my mind. Also, that nursery rhyme was, indeed, creepy. You have not disappointed me!!!
ОтветитьMy mom is 79. She literally puts delay in everything...
ОтветитьHey my Mum actually did know quite a bit about digital delay pedals, after all the pedals she bought me over the years.
ОтветитьTape delay is my favorite. Every time I use any other delay, I just want to go back to tape. I have the EHX Canyons and try the other delay settings all the time, but always come back to tape.
ОтветитьJust watched years after you made it, ha. My favorite song with delay, How Soon Is Now! Johnny Marr is one of the masters of delay? Right? Ha
ОтветитьIt's hard not to mention David Gilmour's use of delay on the entire "The Wall" album with the dotted eights notes on "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 1" and "Run Like Hell". Some people believe that The Edge took some cues from that album.
ОтветитьI wish you hadn't introduced me to the Source Audio Nemesis. You know that stuff's addictive, right?
ОтветитьNUX makes the best Tape Echo now. It is actually better than the Boss Space Echo RE2, and the Boss RE-20.
ОтветитьBut you "Don't Have The BOX" for ANY of those pedals! 😆🤣🤣
ОтветитьGood info on delay pedals. Jimi Hendrix did play several songs with reverse delay but on Red House it was with reel to reel tape delay. I've got a Danelectro Dan-Echo I bought maybe 20 years ago and it had about 14 control settings. On setting tape echo you could dial it in and sound like Jimi playing the Red House sound.
ОтветитьCompanies will produce a Digital Delay with " AI".. we are not so far.
ОтветитьWhat version of red house has a reverse solo? Did he mean are you experienced?
ОтветитьI have a Giga Delay, I think it’s great. DD-20
ОтветитьGoing Down, Jeff Beck
ОтветитьI recently acquired a Microbrute analog synth, and would like to get a delay pedal to use along with it. Which one should I get?
ОтветитьWelcome to the Jungle is my favorite delay song
ОтветитьIt wasn't the Red House solo. It was the solo from Are you experienced.
ОтветитьI like the delay on Soundgarden’s Ugly Things, especially in the drumless breakdown in the middle. Also love the delay on Pink Floyd’s Division Bell track, Take it Back from the live album Pulse.
ОтветитьTune the guitar maybe
ОтветитьFinally, someone else who appreciates Silver and Gold as an amazing piece of art!!!
ОтветитьHey Josh, Music-Go-Round just released a limited edition (30 units according to their website) of Re-Peter pedals for $179.00 and they were made by Acorn Music
ОтветитьIdk why jhs is never trying to sell me anything but it makes me want to buy jhs gear
Ответить'Rattle and Hum', Silver and Gold... YES!!!
Ответитьles savy fav - the sweat descends
Ответитьgotta be Maggot Brain for favorite delay song
ОтветитьThe sweeper mode on last pedal got my attention, i was always so confused with delay, my pressure is way down, i will be able to sleep atnight, thx!
ОтветитьDemonfx tape echo is great pedal $53 too. better than my boss delay it replaced which was $179 no one even wanted to buy the boss pedal I ended up selling it desperately finally for $70 not even half of what it cost me originally. Boss = basic from my experience with their pedals never again.
ОтветитьDude, this was so informational. Insane value. You’re the best man. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьAhh shame they didn't say about the vox time machine what a fantastic delay pedal
Ответить
