Nice tribute to a great song.
ОтветитьLove it...used to be a big Frank Hyde fan on 2SM!!..brilliant Tim.
ОтветитьAwesome gents
ОтветитьGreat cover version of a great song. Should have been a hit the first time round. Good to see Perry in the clip & Johnny Barker covers himself in glory once again, with a superb clip. Glory Glory to South Sydney.
ОтветитьLove it! What great footage! Sorry to hear about your Dad. Mine also has passed, 18 months ago. Yours had a lovely speaking voice. I saw you in Belgrave late last year. Great show. xx
ОтветитьUp Manly
ОтветитьI had to google John Sattler (ex-pat Pom, no interest in sport) but this is still a great track. As usual Tim. You're still a bloody star in my eyes. And was that your dad at the beginning of the video?
ОтветитьBrilliant
ОтветитьWhat history, great footage
ОтветитьCan see he's on Sophia St Surry hills
ОтветитьGreat song and great footage. Manly forward John Bucknell did the deed early in the match but O’Neill and Coote squared the ledger later in the first half and Bucknell didn’t return to the field in the 2nd half.
ОтветитьUp the Rabbitohs
ОтветитьI am International Member Love this Song.wore Rabbitohs Mask when I had my Vaccinations.Pensioner man said to me 'Rabbitohs Fan,Great Team Lass' my Town Rugby League Rougheyeds
ОтветитьBrilliant song
ОтветитьWhat a great cover of Perry Keyes classic, but the film clip is just awesome, featuring icons of the 70s John Sattler, Frank Hyde, Gough Whitlam, Wrestlers from world championship wrestling and of course Perry himself. Such a wonderful trip down memory lane which brings such geat recollections of my youth.
ОтветитьI do prefer the actual original!!!!! Perry Keyes!
ОтветитьHow the hell has this song flown under my radar all these years...😲😲😲
ОтветитьWould love a Resch's!
ОтветитьI needed this, after hearing the news. RIP.
ОтветитьRIP John Sattler
ОтветитьRIP John Sattler. Glory glory to John and South Sydney. Legend
ОтветитьRIP ❤️💚🐰
ОтветитьRIP John Sattler 🥲
ОтветитьIm trying to send this song to my contacts how
ОтветитьRIP John Sattler 1942-2023.
One of the all-time greats both on and off the field
RIP Satts
ОтветитьRip Johnny. A true legend, Ggtss
ОтветитьThe man that was the epitome of what wearing the cardinal & myrtle is all about. R.I.P to the legend and gentleman who is John Sattler.
ОтветитьSounds different today
ОтветитьRest in peace old man
Ответить❤️🐰💚
ОтветитьA classic song. Very moving.
ОтветитьWhat a terrific tribute, to both the man & the game.
ОтветитьIn an age of hard men playing the hardest game, everyone tipped their cap the John Sattler. The toughest man to ever lace the boots up. The spiritual leader of the club and the embodiment of the game. RIP Satts. Also, who even remembers John Bucknell? I reckon Satts came out on top again ♥
ОтветитьI’m not crying you’re crying ❤️💚
ОтветитьFabulous Ballad !!!
ОтветитьNever liked the whitlams but as I got older I realise how fkn good they were.
How stupid was I?
What a great cover. Percy is a genius lyricist and The Whitlams are one of the only bands that could do justice to the original.
ОтветитьI love the Whitlams but what a shame Tim uses an American accent... an perrenial Aussie music problem.
ОтветитьSport, how incredibly boring and 'macho'.
ОтветитьLove Tim Freedman! my favourite voice and my boys LOVE anything Whitlam's or Tim.
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful time to be alive before all the crazy 'worldview' changes everyone had to suffer.
Those alive today who experienced Livin' in the Seventies know what I mean.
Great vocals. Good to see Perry make a cameo appearance.
ОтветитьGo souffs!
ОтветитьWorked the Railways and the Botany tanneries, saw Frank Hyde in the flesh at the SCG Members on Grand Final Day 1981. I worked with Kerry Burke who played for Souths losing Grand Final side. But every line, every image, from the red rattlers passing Newtown to the Commission flats out west, when rugby league was truly tribal, brings grown men past their prime like myself to tears because we are mourning times gone forever, lost youth. A work of genius.
ОтветитьGreat song and even better film clip - loved it. Thanks!
Ответитьmm
ОтветитьLook it's not a bad version by the old Shore boy, but it ain't a patch on the original. So why bother? Maybe Perry returned a favour.
