Welcome to the Online Video Series for the Climate Engineering Conference 2014: Critical Global Discussions. Here, you will be able to find short interviews on key research areas in the science and governance of climate engineering. For more information, please visit the conference website at www.ce-conference.org

In this interview, Ben Kravitz (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory) answers:

- What is GeoMIP and why did you start it?
- How does climate engineering fit within the study of the climate as a whole?
- What is the most difficult aspect of studying climate engineering?

Climate engineering is rapidly becoming a contentious issue within political, scientific, and cultural discussions of climate change, in part due to a perceived lack of progress on crucial emission reductions. By organizing a large conference in August 2014, we strive to engage in critical global discussions by bringing together the research, policy, and civic communities to discuss the highly complex and interlinked ethical, social and technical issues that come into focus when discussing climate engineering.
