Love this SO much! It's great that they are similar sized so they can do all sorts of things together that may not be possible if it was a big dog...and you don't have to worry about a big dog "smushing" the cat. Hope those 2 BFFs live long, happy lives and continue to bless their owner's lives for a very long time.

My dog (now passed) and cat had a really funny sibling relationship. My cat would hit my dog because she's the little sister and he can't hit her back because he was bigger than her. Then he'd chase her and I'd have to stop him before he hit her back. They also only cuddled when they didn't think anyone was looking (gotta keep up appearances). When they were "caught" my cat would 180 and hit my dog totally pretending she wasn't being sweet 2 minutes prior.

I am so happy to see this story. I had the same story. I rescued a jack Russell at 6 months old. We tried introducing him to other dogs so he could have a companion while we were at work. He would not except any other dog. Then one day while coming out of a animal shelter a man was walking in with a kitten and I immediately knew that she was coming home with me. I introduced them, she was 3 weeks old, and she ruled his life, they were best buds. He lived to 17 she lived to 21.
