Here's a quick video on adding some skirting to my deck. I wanted it removable so I could use the space under the deck for storage. To do this, I decided to add cleats, so the cedar plank panels would be easily removable.
This was a fairly low cost project that really polished up the back yard. If you're like me and like a good project then check out my channel for lots of other woodworking projects.
Tools and Supplies I used for this project:
- Table Saw (Although you could get by with just a circular saw)
- Level
- 12 inch speed clamp (or someone to occasionally help hold things)
- Drill
- Cedar Planks
- 2 by 6 lumber (I used pressure treated, but they were difficult to rip.)
- 1 1/4" Deck Screws (to attach planks)
- 2 1/2" Deck Screws (to attach cleats to deck posts)
- Olympic Lifetime Stain and brush
- Chalk Line (or long straight edge)
