To me flashpoint dragon rising was the best military sim ive ever played. I absolutely loved that game, it was super immersive & ahead of its time. You had to use real tactics, have patience as you crawled for half hr solid to evade detection etc.

I remember the emotions of completing that game i was so happy but absolutely gutted that it was over. Im sure i played that game 10 times over i enjoyed it that much.

I wish they would make a new release for the xbox console. Something with 1080p stunning graphics running at 120fps but with the feel of the original games. Especially dragon rising.

All these new COD & MOH games dont interest me at all. The early battlefield games were okay but i have never had anything captivate me like flashpoint. What an awesome game. Good times, great memories😊

Also he nonchalantly misses biggest point of whole struggle of Operation Flashpoint. And that was Americans trying to screw them over and over in mad exploration run on European countries. In 1989 when regime changed, americans as a whole pronounce as a subnation without right for own things. They came up with few money and start forcing everyone into shady bussiness. Like the one with Flashpoint and even bigger scams were perpetrated. Truth however is that Operation Flashpoint stays great czech made thing, it was ahead its time back then and still upholds its name into this very days. Go F yourself whover paid for this video to be made. Its impossible that individual just doing video would not find out key factors and there is 0 reason why not praise the game all day long. So this is hitpiece paid by whovever just to kick czech nation into nuts.And Španělé bros stays hard rollers and biggest ballers with biggest nuts and they staying legends in here.

The era between mid-late 80's and late 90's were the best time to be alive!

Such memories from this game with the realism and the modding community. I did my first addon for any game when I modeled the Antonov 124 and tried to make it work with the flight model in OFP. Would have been great if the game allowed vehicles to actually be transported as cargo, but it was good for massive paratrooper insertions :D Thank you Bohemia for this wonderful open universe to play with for many many years!

Having been born in 1990, this has always been my most favorite game in the genre. You could accomplish almost any mission in whatever way you could imagine. Sometimes you'd steal an enemy vehicle, other times you'd go change your loadout and either snipe or use an LAW, another time you'd go to another base you remembered from a previous mission to get a tank that wasn't intended but you could still get it.

Indeed, failing certain objectives could change the mission afterwards.
It was possible to create your own complex missions.

If you put a lot of effort into it, you could even save a convoy that was intended to be blown up ... but by rushing in with an LAW you could lucky shot the enemy tank and manage to save your allies and the mission completely supported that happening and the saved NPC's did realistically what they should do after surviving.

The vast scale of the map; during any mission you could go anywhere in the entire game world which was literally >100 km large.
You could go refuel at a tanker or a gas station, same for ammo, ... .

Truly the golden standard for a mil sim.
And ... no other company ever managed to offer something similar. It would always be more scripted and linear, less large in scale, never that amount of freedom, ...
Only ARMA as it's successor did something similar ... .

no fall because ARMA 3 is still popular,DRAGON RISING is not the continuation of OFP, totally new game from totally new developers,ARMA series is the new OFP

My young brain when it began to dawn on me, the scope and potential of op Flashpoint… My mind was blown.

really cool but two things. you mentioned dayz but completely missed the massive impact of the player unknown's battlegrounds mod. also, a big part of bohemia is delivering realistic experiences to defence customers, such as the us army. so much of the us army training, like platoon level command, has demonstrations that I can very easily see were rendered in the ArmA engine. defence are massive customers and a major part of what bohemia does.

well when i first played arma 2. it very emotional. and dude in the last mission I got lost in the woods. my car was out of fuel and I cant see anything. what a memory

ArmA will always be Operation Flashpoint in my heart.

I remember playing this online. It was "capture the flag". Sometimes I would join a server where there was no ammo or vehicle respawns in your base so I would hop in a plane or helicopter and go kamikaze into the opponents base and destroy all their ammo and vehicles 😂. Good times.

It's sad that operation flashpoint died :( i loved the series, they could have easily competed with arma but they didn't maintain it or keep it looking good!

I remember seeing Operation Fleshpoint: Dragon Rising when I was in college and thought to myself how hardcore it looked. Fair play to Bohemia for sticking to their guns!

god operation flashpoint was so good. it was one of my all time favorite gaming experiences ever.

I remember the first missions of the OFP campaign were not about winning the mission but kill as many enemies as possible and stay alive.

Is ArmA Reforger a decent flag bearing for the spirit of OFP or not?

Arma 2 was peak. Arma 3 tried to improve on it, and it is good, but bohemia lost its direction since then. We'll never have a simulator as open and moddable as arma 2 and the fact that its AI is superior to reforger's is telling.

The sim for military use is VBS. Virtual Battlefield Systems.

I still play dragon riding on xbox series x , and its still fun.

Like a true master piece , ahead of its time, completely underrated and overlooked.

Dragon Rising was maybe unpolished and felt like nothing what original Flashpoint was but it had a great feeling being in a middle of literal nowhere fighting for some odd values. It was my first game in series I ever played but after all I can't say it was that bad. Just isn't what you expect for this kind of IP.

OFP never “fell”, sure, the title OFP isn’t used anymore, but the game lives on in ARMA, made literally by the SAME game studio with IDENTICAL mechanics as the original 2001 version. Nice try at hating, loser.
