I'm not sure what the benefit is over a standard K-style inflator. Maybe if you're used to those button positions? Or maybe the weight, having titanium parts on the inside and all? But how much weight do you actually save, and is it worth the $270 investment?

I'd rather spend that money on getting a better regulator, or a better mask, or some nice accessories like a good dive light or a nice dSMB and spool and a couple of dive knives.

Does the SS1 have the same functionality as AI with the added air source feature? Or it’s just a regular power inflator?
