Have you heard this stat???
Nature's Best Hope is one of my favorite books-and it's because I experienced this firsthand with our first big garden in Houston.
We started there with just lawn--a ton of heat, loads of mosquitoes and nothing much to look at.
And within just a few years, we had a yard teeming with lizards, toads, birds, bees, butterflies and so much beauty.
All because of the natives-grasses, flowers, bushes-all native to Texas.
Within a few years, the mosquito problem went away, our veggie garden was thriving and our yard was one of our favorite spots.
