I dont dislike specifically modern art (and what in my mind in art isnt confined to looks, it can even be auditory (music) or sensory(I cant find examples, maybe books?)), I just kinda hate how people skyrocket the prices just because the artist did some small pet talk about it or having an excuse to do something simple that anyone can do and say lots of majestic and scientific words about it which aren't very valuable besides "this sounds professional"

The reason why I dislike modern art is that I feel like classical art is being neglected. It demotivates me when I see "good" modern art getting sold over hundreds of millions. I feel like all I've learnt and experienced over the last fifteen years will go to waste. I am aware that some pieces of art, like the white one you mentioned, requires time, skill, and patience. But these are nothing compared to the struggle I had to go through. Realism isn't something you can master within a few years.

I studied architecture and therefore had many art history classes, I'm so grateful my teachers actually knew what they were talking about when we got to modern and contemporary art, it was eye opening and made me realize how much we should be teaching serious art classes at schools, so young people can experience art with better criteria, I also had the luck of making an internship at the local Contemporary Art Museum in high school where I got to see many cool installations with amazing and emotive concepts, I'll never forget a video performance based on a real story of a hairstylist woman who had her hands chopped off with a machete in a jealousy driven rage episode by her husband (she escaped holding her severed hands and got them stitched back together, she managed to get back working at her salon), contemporary art can be amazing if you take the time to actually experience it. You don't have to like it, sure, but no need to hate it based on a cartoony understanding of it and know that not everything is meant for you to hang it on your living room wall.

I like more realistic and Modern Art, but I prefer to use their proper terms representational or non-representational and at a certain point there are many people I admire but politically and whatnot, but when it comes to heart, I wish they just keep the goddamn mouth shut.
