awesome video, beautiful island .......:)
ОтветитьHi Kim Awesome place! I'm glad you went to the top to look back over the 'The Old Man' to be rewarded with such beautiful distant views and once again looked like you thoroughly enjoyed yourself. Thank you!
ОтветитьLooks like a place worthy of returning to again & again... :-)
ОтветитьLovely... Thanks for the tour!
Ответитьgreat work again Kim
ОтветитьYou are a credit to your generation Kim, your positivity is brilliant, keep doing what you do
ОтветитьGreat job once again. I'm thinking of getting a camper van for my landscape photo trips (a la Thomas Heaton)......as soon as my torn rotator cuff heals!
ОтветитьVery enjoyable video Kim, thanks for sharing the view, it's a long way for me but one for my bucket list.
ОтветитьWould you consider photography by moonlight?
ОтветитьThanks Kim, that was terrific. The path up there seems well defined. I would love to go to the top. As you say, wild camping and waking up to a sunrise would be something else. Hope you get to do it one day.
ОтветитьMaybe the end of the harsh Scottish winter did you say Kim? Think it might still be with you (and us further south in the U.K.) this coming week! Nice video again.
ОтветитьThanks so much for sharing such a incredible spot with us!
ОтветитьWhat no camera, there must be something to the north worth taking to be different, good light in February too.
ОтветитьAnother wonderful video Kim! I always enjoy your enthusiastic descriptions of your various locations! I would always take my camera with me even if I felt as though the light was not great. Did you ever consider doing HDR for high contrast images? You could always use that for doing beautiful black and Whites!
ОтветитьBut what if you's seen a Wild Haggis? Always bring your camera! ;-)
Ответитьnice
Ответитьsaludos desde Ecuador
ОтветитьGreat video heading to skye next week cant wait
ОтветитьTop of the world comes to mind Kim, an absolutely stunning location. Thank you
ОтветитьYour such an asset for Visit Scotland another excellent video Kim can't wait for the next video
ОтветитьGreat view! I love how you are always amazed at nature and taken aback by it. I also love your passion for Scotland and it really does inspire me to go there (hopefully one day). I really would love to since my grandmother is a quarter Scottish as well. Growing up we would always go to the Scottish festival every year, but it would be amazing to go one day!
ОтветитьO.K., who wants to join in a GoFundMe for backing for Kim to return for a sunrise shoot? 😄
ОтветитьHave only been up there once but nothing like that. Think you should of had the camera the old man looks wicked with the mist behind it.
ОтветитьI had the benefit of a pre-dawn hike when I visited this place last year. It was so dark, I couldn't see how difficult a climb it would be! Unfortunately, and typically for me, when I got up to the top, it was dull, grey skies.
ОтветитьThanks for taking us. I’m definitely inspired!
ОтветитьThoroughly enjoying your videos Kim look forward to seeing you get out and wildcamp this year as well
ОтветитьDid you not take any images Kim?
ОтветитьI agree, this is one of the most beautiful places. I was there last May, the wind was ferocious back then. The hike up was not easy but it is so worth it. I fell in love with your country while being there, Kim. Going back in April. I can't wait! I dream of spending many weeks discovering many wonders of Scotland while sleeping in a campervan. One day, for sure!
ОтветитьI was up there on 15th Feb. Different story then, we got absolutely battered by winds and hail storms!
Ответитьyou are advised not to go beyond this point. 'goes beyond point' lol
ОтветитьAnother great video Kim, again, I love your enthusiasm. Keep it up.
ОтветитьNice one Kim. Although you spoke too soon about Spring on its way (i've got 18 inches of snow in my back garden).
ОтветитьWe are planning our second trip to Scotland for this year (yes in December 🤔) we were there a couple of years ago,, and missed Skye . NOT THIS YEAR ! Know the weather is "iffy" to say the least, but hey ho it's the only time we can travel! And the wisky will keep you warm , and everything is off-season prices👍😎
ОтветитьWe visited and fell in love with Skye in May 2017 and were lucky to have beautiful weather that week. The Old Man of Storr was without doubt the highlight of our week. We got up at 3.30am and managed to get to the top for sunrise (along with about 8 other photographers!). Utterly beautiful, peaceful, goosebump inducing experience. I don't think I've felt that way about a view before or since. Thanks for posting. Makes me want to go again.
ОтветитьYou say the walk up is 'a lot tougher than people give it credit for', and that is the reason why you didn't go up for sunrise. Come on Kim, you could have done it very easily ;). It is also winter, so sunrise was at a decent time, unlike in the summer when I still manage to convince clients to make the very early start to go up there. I have had clients as old as 70 make it up in under 1.5 hours.
ОтветитьSo impressively beautiful! We did not have the time to visit the Isle of Skye on our last trip to Scotland. :( I truly missed out!
ОтветитьI can understand why you didn't take your camera there is many photos taken during the day and from your video you could have got some very good images
ОтветитьGreat video! I will go there next month ;-)
ОтветитьNew subscriber!!! Lovely video and god I love your accent! :D
Ответить12 miserable sods didn't like this.Somebody commented in an other video about conemara in ireland that it looks the isle of skye i can see that now.
ОтветитьThere is of course a natural geological answer to it, but still these formations looks somehow intimidating, as though they were alive long ago.
ОтветитьHow long is the hike?
ОтветитьScotland's scenery is so awesome... Thanks for taking us with you... I felt like I was by your side.... Thanks for taking the trouble to do these Vlogs... We love them... We wish you well from Northampton (the centre of England)....
ОтветитьExcellent video, such enthusiasm! We went last year - our vlog is on our channel. We were there in October and it was similarly quiet. Our summary was also “wow”!
ОтветитьHi Kim, I'm researching before visiting Skye in May this year so than's for the tips. I really hope to be able to get up there for sunrise! Not sure I'm brave enough to wild camp up there!!!!! :-)
ОтветитьAfter seeing the mist in the rocks bet you wished you had brought your camera
ОтветитьThis was one of my highlights to my trip to Scotland, definitely one of the best treks I've done and one of the best scenic views I've experienced. Can't wait to do it again!
ОтветитьI cant help hearing a verse from my favourite Runrig song as I watch your videos, Kim. No doubt you know it, but for those who don't..........
"There's thunder clouds, in the homeland bay
As I step out in the rain
In the sepia showers and the photo-flood days.
I saw a fleeting glimpse of light and the waters black as night,
while the colour's of Scotland Leave me warm inside.
Not sure if the verse is entirely correct but near enough and how I remember it.
God bless you, your enthusiasm is truly inspiring.
