Have you considered doing a video on screwdriver adapters? You could use 1/4" bits on Swiss Army knives and multitools, and an adapter would convert 1/4" to 4mm. How about an adapter that goes from 4mm to 1/4" and has options to use double-sided 1/4" and flat bits. I have DIYs using easy-to-find parts that are easy to make yourself. If you are interested, reply with a link and I will send you some pics.
ОтветитьThe pb Swiss is my absolute fave and go to. I made the jump and got one to carry in my pocket for my work and I wish I hade one a long time ago. Absolutely the best
ОтветитьI daily carry a cheapo simple double ended (#1 philips and slotted) $2 screwdriver with pocket clip, it's one of my most often used tools.
ОтветитьAny TSA approved Keychain list?
ОтветитьThe 711L keychain one I wish was longer. Wouldn’t mind a pen length on it for better grip.
ОтветитьKlien. Impact rated 3 in 1 stubby driver and flip sockets is the best pocket driver. The ratcheting is far better than the PB swiss
ОтветитьThanks for this. Nice demonstration of several good options. Solved a GoBag issue for me.
ОтветитьGreat job! How did I miss this video when it came out? I LOVE the 711L Lollipop. Perfect pocket screwdriver for me. I don't need the onboard storage as the Steinwhale bit kit is so small and well marked. Those Steinwhale bits fit perfectly in the Lollipop.
ОтветитьGreat video and nice selection of screwdrivers. I have the Hoto and really like it for knife maintenance. I'm a sucker when it comes to neat tools, must do more research! Subscribed
Ответить711L lollipop: why would you choose the stainless vs the alu? just weight?
ОтветитьYou ever tried the titan nano Ratcheting tool?
Ответитьi carried topeak ratchet rocket lite DX... small enough for EDC. Thanks for your video
ОтветитьWolf tooth is a mountain biking component brand. They make all sorts of neat stuff. This bit driver should also hold a master link for chains on the inside somewhere.
ОтветитьYes ❤😂 When practicing a Craft good tools make it pleasing.
ОтветитьLooking forward to more EDC examples
ОтветитьSuch a great video. Are there pocket screwdrivers that have a one handed opening blade? Keep up the great work!
ОтветитьThe leatherman ratchet driver extension fits really well into the Fixit stick holder. Game changer.
ОтветитьWhy would anybody ever use precision bits? (except if your job calls for them) I’ve had the same set for 50 years and only used one once. I absolutely loved the Hoto screwdriver set, the innovation and quality looks great, but for a tool I can’t ever see the need for…
In everyday life and for edc they seem totally pointless. The Victorinox bit wrench with 10 onboard bits plus a small tin I carry with around 40 more 1/4” inch bits covers anything I’m likely to come across in real life, Phillips, pozidrive, standard flats, torx, Allen keys.
Really baffles me why people edc precisions🤷🏻♂️🤔
Icons locking flex head & ratchet bit set from Harbor Freight is unbeatable when it comes to versatility and bit options, your mention of it in the past made me need it and its as usefull as ever with kids toys and furniture assembly, oh and edc it is worth the weight
ОтветитьHave you ever tried the Vim Tools HBR3? I ended up trying it from some old guy that came up and I was using my multitool pliers and a bit to tighten a car alternator screw and he gave me the wrench and told me to put my bit in it and I was able to use the ratchet side to snug the screw and then the box end to tighten the screw really tight. He said since I was helping someone and I scratched up my knuckles, just keep the wrench. It's an amazing bit wrench.
ОтветитьVery nice Video
Thanks
Have carried a 7 11 L in my TaleofKnives holster for a year now and it’s the best screwdriver not on a my multi tool or in my standard toolbox.
ОтветитьOne great little EDC screwdriver that I bought earlier this year that I don't see a lot of people talking about is the Strikerbit from a company called Microcarry, I think you should definitely check this one out, it is compact and has a lot of functionality for its size. Let me know if you ever get around to it. Great video and content!
ОтветитьHey Dom, have you seen the Nite Ize KMTRT-11-R3 DoohicKey? It's super affordable and you can throw it onto your keys, plus it has an integrated ratchet in it and comes with two bits slotted and phillips.
ОтветитьPB Swiss is great build quality and is probably the best brand of tools I own. There are some good one from Wera that I really like too. I believe they have a stubby ratchet version that carries bits and is more compact than the PB Swiss.
Ответить👍. Well put together content for each. Keep doing it.
ОтветитьI'm an electrician, so I prefer carrying an insulated screwdriver. The Wiha 38611 is my go to to toss into a backpack.
ОтветитьHave you tried the rovyvon carebiner U4 pro, it has a scalp knife (exchangable) and has a screwdriver wich you can chance bits
ОтветитьFor a dedicated “traditional” pocket screwdriver, you have to try the PB Swiss Tools PB-6464.
No frills.
Amazing quality
Holds 8 of the highest quality 1/4” bits on the market
And the handle smells like vanilla
I keep a PB Swiss insider (PB 6464) in a Maxpedition Micro. Fits perfectly and is seriously small. It the same footprint as the Knipex cobra 125s (aside from depth which is about the same as a Sofirn edc flashlight. Surprised it isn't mentioned more. Stores 8 bits inside too. Love it! It may even be smaller than the stubby you mentioned both in length and thickness.
Ответитьi have a Stanley 4 way that was 99 cents at Home Depot and a Chapman pocket set with a ratchet and 4 bits.
ОтветитьAt the end of this video, what driver was that on the far left, that looked like a pen!?
ОтветитьA good one to add to this list is the opinel #9 diy, it has a magnetic bit holder in the end and storage for 2 bits on board.
ОтветитьSuch a nice selection, but you had mentioned in the past that you use WorkSharp sharpener/screwdriver combo quite a while and now its not in the video. Something went wrong?
Looking forward to see separate video on pocket-friendly stuby ratchet screwdrivers.
I subscribed!
ОтветитьThe last driver looks very similar to iFixIt's 4mm bit driver, albeit heavily modified.
ОтветитьMan… if a company would come out with a full 1/4” ratcheting bit driver, like the Leathmen but with a ball detent, they would make a fortune. Just sayin…
ОтветитьDid either of the hotos or similar “lots of bits” in thr 4mm size have an eyeglass driver?
ОтветитьI wish you would give prices in the video
ОтветитьI'm broke and can't afford these things. But I just love looking at innovative and intricate designs. Just wish I could be a tool designer.
ОтветитьIt's amazing to know there're so many variations for such a simple tool. Excellent video!
ОтветитьPB Swiss 6464 is still my jam. Can’t say the ratcheting adds much to the subby and the regular PB Swiss stubby is really light, but I like the handle material on the 6464. Been trying to carry my curl, but I just find it too heavy a lot of the time so I carry one of my benchmades and the only screwdriver I have is the tiny one on my jet setter (modified with the light from a signature light).
ОтветитьAll neat but the best of the best is the Klein tools 10 fold. No gimmics, give it hell, it'll always be there for you.
ОтветитьAlgo
ОтветитьNice video! Plenty of options out there. 👍 😎 🧰
ОтветитьThe Hoto drivers are less likely to roll than the Workpro drivers, but I like the knurling on the WorkPro.
The bit insert/holder seems to come out too easily on both.
The PB Swiss drivers with the full size handle do have play.
Countycomm (Maratac) makes a nice titanium one that's a little larger but still pocketable as well as a very compact technicians pocket screw driver for smaller applications.
ОтветитьThank You for posting this.
