Thank you for helping me through my watercolor journey.
ОтветитьThanks for this, after 6 months of research, my wife, who hasn't done any art since O'level and that partially was a mixed paper to incorporate italic handwriting, meant she didn't use oils, pastels or did much past pen and ink and pencil drawing. She always wanted some 'proper' paints and going part time has meant time to look at the Professional W & N watercolours and she got a good winter sale offer on a tin of 24 half pans after initially seeing a tin of 12 tubes (after a 3-4-2 offer in Hobbycraft), meaning she got 3 more tubes 'free'.
Leaning about the series numbers, why some shades are discontinued, permanent, light fast ratings, what hues are and 'single pigments' are, and that artists using paints with cadmium/cobalt etc just line up their water pots on a windowsill to evaporate them, and then wipe out the dry residue with a tissue and bin it, isn't something a newbie would necessarily think of, that they are polluting the water supply and doing harm to nature, land and aquatic life, by pouring your paint water down the sink. She now understands what a primary pallette with earth tones is and what ' convenience colours' are. She discovered that W&N once did a metal Bijou box which would fit on your hand with deep wells in the lid, but they were discontinued long ago for plastic, which doesn't appeal. Will W&N do a smaller metal box again? Would be good for putting a limited palette from tubes into. With Urban Sketching style using line and wash, this would be great for that. So as W&N don't do a branded smaller tin, a cheapie from the internet will have to do for now. There's a lot to look into, when starting with incorporating watercolour, so some techniques instruction would be good too, similarly with atmospheric perspective and using a viewcatcher for composition, proportion and values, all things my wife's gaining a rudimentary understanding of, importance of cotton content in paper & what W&N offer on that front, etc. So, as a heritage company, with Royal Warrant, any instructionals from W&N are always most welcome, thank you.

Great video. This was just what I was wondering about.
ОтветитьAny chance of getting a video on Winsor Newton Professional and light reflectiveness value?
