DCS SuperCarrier - Pre-Release Preview!

Is there a landing graph / map like the F14? Was looking forward to that in the /18 !

The video of Super Carrier (and any other module) that is explaining the product instead making fun or fooling around.
If content creators spend even couple days for the content, instead competing who gets video out first by just streaming with friends, quality is many ways better and informative.

they cant guide you around other jets ? i feel like that is the job to guide you into place with out hitting anything . DOH maybe its not so super after all not able to guide to and from parking oops.

I have been mentioning "pushback" for some time now and I get a lot of pushback about it. This feature may not be so important at an airport in DCS but it certainly makes sense on a carrier with confined space, especially when parking or if someone rolls too far. So surprised it wasn't added to SuperCarrier :(

Your videos like always are almost perfect, in this time the background volume is too loud and your mic is too close. For those no english native speakers who must rise the volume to understand, that DCS background sounds become an issue. Thank you for another technical review, I learned a lot from you.

Thanks RedKite! looks great. and its nice to see the stack working.. even if they are communicating to the tower via Telepathy :) It is early early-access. I hope they add AI chatter at some point.

This is what we get after two months overdue? Really? I can’t be the only one who feels cheated right now, especially now that I won’t be there when it’s finally available.

I don't know what is DCS. If it is a game its one of the most boring game in the history of humankind. By the way I play War Thunder and IL2.

Has a lot of potential but we could say that about all of DCS. F-16 feels great but it is lacking features. Same goes for the F-18. It is all a shame and won’t be a purchase for me. Not until ED starts taking supporters and the community seriously. Without us, they won’t eat.

Now this is the content I've been waiting for. Not the unhelpful dicking about by over-excited "opinion leaders" who haven't even bothered to do their homework.

Credit to ED. The Comms from the carrier is absolutely outstanding. It makes it feel more alive than the deadpan ATC on fields.

Can super-carrier be used by Su33? Or is the possibility of catching wire and advanced comms limited to certain naval US modules?

I like to fly in low vis fog in tomcat to practice using instruments to get into the pattern and land.... hopefully this will improve my experience.

DCS doesn't release during sales, so this is buying them time (planned? lol). Hoping for what imperfections there was in this build of the SC, it will only be better when we all get our hands on it.

Don't buy it if you plan to use it in VR. It is a slideshow regardless of your hardware. The 2.5.6 version of DCS has been broken for 4 months and eagle dynamics has no idea on how to fix it. At this point it might die before being fixed. I couldn't try this more than 10min, I am disgusted.

Do they plan on adding additional crew like startup and parking crew with those flashy light bars and stuff? Good job on the awesome and honest preview of the Super Carrier, RedKite!

The LSO didnt give much instruction because there wasnt that much to give. It was a solid trap. Hahaha.

Personally I would've called right for line up but that's it. You corrected well enough.

I havent graded any carrier stuff for a while but if I would have graded it NESA LULX - IM. OK 3.
Not enough Straight Away and Line Up Left at start to In Middle. OK 3 wire.

You're only problem was that you were a little short in the groove.

Apart from the excellent review, your case 1 recovery (with a silent LSO) to grab the three was the best I've seen. Like she was on rails! Thats speaks of good controller setup, experience and (the most elusive) "finesse".

what is the frame-rate hit comparison on this vs. using normal built-in carrier for F/A 18 ?
